    I just noticed the same thing with my recon battalion in a scenario.  I am guessing this is a mistake in the OOB.  I can't imagine a formation carrying AT ammo on their IFVs which can't be used.   Either the troops should have RPGs and can use the rockets or the ammo should be disposable RPG-18s same as used by the troops

BTW, I finally sent in the help desk request last night to Slitherine.  This Saturday morning Paulo was on the spot and sent a quick set of steps to solve the problem.  It was uninstall game, clean registry keys w/a file he attached, install and activate main game and DLCs w/i 2.04 installer, check all is good and then install 2.06.  Problem solved.  Many thanks to Paulo for his Saturday morning help!

    I can see a cell tower from my home.  My 2 year contract with Hughes is almost complete and I will try to get a cell service off that tower.  Others have told me it is much better to use the cell service vs sat internet.  So thanks, I am going to try to get the cell service.

  4. I am having the same problem.   I had to re-install CMSF2. So I downloaded the 1.8 gig main file/DLC uploader plus the 2.06 .  Then I installed main SF2 and activated all the DLCs.  The multi-update activated all the DLCs.  Unfortunately, none of the DLCs show as activated w/i the game.  Main SF2 works but none of DLC scenarios appear activated w/i game.  Now I am wondering if I will have to download all the DLC files which are also very large files???  My satellite internet w/20g data cap is not very happy with that idea. 

     

    Just checking now and the very large DLC downloads are the same file as the main SF2 installer.  I shouldn't have to download those.  Looks like I need to file a helpdesk ticket as everything appears good but not working w/DLCs.

    I think you must have had bad luck with your spotting.  All but once, my tanks spotted first and knocked out every German tank with a single shot including the Tiger.  Sounds like you are new to Red Thunder as well.  I haven't played any of the regular scenarios yet and if you are interested, I would interested in playing some PBEM going in blind on the scenarios for both sides.  Let me know if you are up for some blind scenario PBEMs.

At least when the Soviet leader croaks it the squad has no leader at all while the German squad does.

    I will be watching that.  Luckily I didn't lose a single platoon leader.  So I didn't see the impact.

    Just finished it up with 19 minutes left in the game.  Total victory w/my losses at 21 infantry and 1 T-34/85.  German losses were at 98 infantry and 4 tanks.  I believe it was the ISU-152 which took out the Tiger.  I sent one weak platoon forward on my right to take the bridge and the other 2 stronger platoons up the center.  The mass of my armor went in on the left.  It was a training scenario and turns out the Germans were green vs my Russians as vets.  Definitely could see the difference in spotting and accuracy.   It was a lot of fun but I think it is going to get a lot tougher now that the training campaign is done.

Playing Normandy scenario Linking up and Breaking Out.  I found a building with a front door that does not allow access.  It actually caused a significant problem because my squad ran all the way down the whole row of buildings and then down the back of the building to enter from the rear door.   How easy is it for me to fix something like this myself or is it a significant project?

    Here is the manual training warning about splitting rus squads:

    Note: Split Soviet squads suffer a morale penalty if their teams are not within visual or voice communication of their platoon leader. Avoid spreading them too far out!

    So no penalties with splitting as long as the squad elements remain within communications range of platoon leaders.

Also during this game, I discovered one building in which the door did not function.  I did a dash across the street, the unit couldn't enter through the door and then ran all the way down the street, then moved behind the housing row and then to the back of the house.  Very lucky to have survived that odyssey.  Probably lucky they did the entire journey on fast mode.   Is that an easy fix if I try to edit the building?

  10. Ok, I found the solution/workaround.   Dismount the HT crew and then have them reload back on to the HT.  When they remount, the gunner regains his gunner function and the HT can target and fire the 37mm gun.   Took awhile but problem solved.

    I did try the move HT away from known enemies and I didn't see any change.  Of course, I am not sure if I had moved even further away whether that might have solved the problem.

Just did the test using earlier turn.  Unloaded Hq Squad and had them leave the area.  Then moved the HT into position to fire at a building and gave target order.  The HT fired away with only 2 people in the HT.  I noticed the gunner had a shell symbol in the unit box.  Then I went to my current turn and noticed that the gunner no longer has the shell symbol but an MP-40 SMG symbol.  I am wondering if at some point, the gunner grabbed a SMG for close up defense and now, no longer serves as the gunner.  Thus without the 2nd crew member serving as a gunner, I can't target or fire the 37mm gun any longer.  Seems to be what happened.

Ok, just bought Red Thunder and I am working my way through the basic training campaign.  I was surprised to realize I could split those big Russian squads into 3 portions just like Western armies.  Ok, fine but then I had just read that I should use a platoon to do the job of a western squad and send 3 Rus tanks where the west would send 1 tank.  Go with mass.  Ok, fine.    In the training campaign, I have been keeping the Rus squads as a single massed component the great majority of the time.  I am pretty sure they are taking greater losses because of that decision and I am not really convinced that the massed firepower is really worth the extra losses.  So what is the consensus use of the Rus squads ability to split up into parts?  Do you split them apart and use them just like an American or German squad or do you primarily keep them in a single massed squad?  Pros and cons of your decision?

    No, I am actually under 20 minutes left in the scenario.  There is only one 251/10 available in the scenario and originally carried a HQ squad.  I know it fired earlier in the game because it knocked out a Cromwell.  .....Just did a test by reloading a much earlier saved turn.   I could target the HT when it was carrying the HQ squad.  Then I unloaded the HQ squad and the HT could still target.    So it was working earlier in the game.  Looking at more saved turns, it lost the targeting ability somewhere between turns 28 and 26 despite showing no damage to the vehicle or gun on now turn 19.  Guessing a bug or damage inflicted but not showing up in the damage panel.
