  1. I played it now PBEM, and I dont know what the problem is.

The Germans have plenty of options to engage and shape the battlefield, to go the easy way just work with tanks and Panzergrenadiere through the village and everything is fine. Use the various recon units to find the concealed AT-positions. Smoke screen and go.

The German side has more then 20 PzKw V and 8 PzKw IV, what else can you ask for.

Going forward Europe is showing every intention of upping it's support despite some folk saying otherwise...

With intentions you will not win a war. Here in Germany, I can not see anything like "showing every intention". The economy is declining with no end in sight. The interest in the Ukrainian cause is equally declining.

Location 1 (botton yellow dot in your image): I snuck ATGMs into that position starting from my first playthrough, they never spot anything throughout several tries and I eventually gave up on that building.

Let me pick out this point.
    1. I found the screenshot here, in this case you can see that the ATGMs are not alone there, two FOs had already noticed something there anyway, in this case the bmp2 has eliminated the opponent.
    2. it is of course also important how you have completed the previous mission, here it is decided whether you have early intel, without this of course everything is already half failed anyway and the player is up for a frustrating experience,

If there is any kind of glitch in the system and your turn file gets eaten by the digital abyss, there is no way to revert the turn or redo it. You have to restart the whole battle. The system doesn’t allow any access to the files so there is no way to revert to a previous turn. These glitches happen more often than you think and are incredibly frustrating.

Also, if the Slitherine servers go down for whatever reason, you’re outta luck until they come back online. Also frustrating, and also happens more often than you would think.

That is not correct, when there is a glitch and the file is defect, does not load anymore and so on, you can write an email to support@slitherine.co.uk  ,with the name of the map/scenario and the opponent and the support, Paolo or whoever is on duty, never on the weekends, sets the game one turn before the glitch.

I have not years of experience to form my opinion on, but I never had the problem that the servers where down for more then an hour.

Sending files via email/dropbox is not complicated, but just go into the game and load the match is much more comfortable.

It might just be too many units. I'll give it a try. What are your processor and graphics card models?

edit: ah I thought you set it to a scenario and not a QB.

I'm not sure. Whats the file size as an .ema file?

Are you willing to try again without setting move orders to most units? Adding move orders creates a lot of stress on calculations for turn 1.

I think it is what George mentioned.

It works with the normal QB maps, I am trying it now with the Master Map.

It would not work, tried it without movements and so on.

But thank you for the effort.

There can be problems when unpacking scenarios from campaigns. As this is part of the Battlepack campaign I suspect there might be issues as all the content in the Battlepack is - as far as I understand - protected.

I'm assuming your opponent has the Battlepack? Why not just use the relevant 'master' map - that should avoid issues.

I'm an idiot, I have not seen that these maps are also available as MMaps. Thank you for the quick help George MC.

  7. Greetings,

    I have a problem.

I have taken a scenario, here the first mission of the 5 days in summer campaign (size 3040 x 4560), I edited it in the scenario editor, added setup zones, edited new ground objectives, deleted purchased units.

Then I placed a German army for 20k on the map, saved and sent the file to my opponent, my opponent placed a Russian army for 20k on the map in the editor. This worked perfectly with quick battle maps before.

Now, however, when my opponent sends me the first turn, I can plan it, but as soon as I want to save it and send it back, the game crashes and throws me onto windows.

I tested it in a hot-seat session with another setup of units and it worked.

Does anyone have an idea or similar experiences?

The scenario, without units is attached to the post.

    Thanks in advance.

A general question about the last round (scenario civil war), what is the maximum number of points that can be scored?

The briefing states 2000, 1000 via mission objectives, the map shows 1200 for objectives, 1000 for destroyed units, which is also incorrect as players have already achieved significantly more.

Has been solved, was an error in the slitherine tournament system.

Also, I learned that the 1st Battalion on the left could not move out of position until the tanks around Outskirts Junction Two were dealt with. Smoke(at least when they have thermals) and artillery do not work against dug in tanks. This meant 3rd Battalion on the right would need to do most of the work. I love this campaign but it's a crime to get all these BMP's and not get use them until the end!

You can take the 1st and deploy them on the other side as well, a bit tight space but worked fine.

For sure.  In fact, this is one of the primary reasons for Putin invading Ukraine.  After so many attempts to keep Ukraine from breaking out of Russia's orbit, the loss of Yanukovych was quite obviously assessed things had progressed too far.  If Ukrainians had buckled and left Yanukovych in power, it would not have invaded at that time.

Russia's loss of influence in countries border countries is IMHO the biggest loss of this war according to Putin's vision for a new Russian empire.

    Yanukovych was elected. Thats democracy.

This is probably a stupid question but here goes:

Why aren't either side using vast amounts of smoke ammunition to fool these less expensive drones during operations?  I've not seen (hardly) any action where smoke rounds/dischargers were used.  They could even make a smoke round that hangs in the air just above the troops to bork drones.

The front is more than 1000km long, with dozens of hot-spots, both sides deploy hundreds of drones every day, some deep behind the front, it is simply not possible, even if you wanted to, as you would also affect your own drones, to cover a battlefield in smoke 24/7.

  12. Thank you again Andrew for your intensive effort in solving this problem.

Slitherine support has replied to my ticket, they wanted to know which scenarios and opponent the rounds have. I would really appreciate that they can fix it, but more important is, will it happen again and again, and what the problem exactly was.

  13. Alby I am glad that your problem has been solved, but your post has nothing to do with my topic.

In the meantime, three PBEM++ games cannot be continued because the game crashes without a message on WIndows, the file is defective, my opponent has the same problem with another round of ours, we currently have five. three of them are apparently defective.

If the files are on a slitherine server, is there a way to get them?

So the problem is with the file the system sent. The errors are in a round that was only 5 turns old as well as a round that already has 175 turns. So totally random.

    Windows gives this message:

Slitherine offers PBEM++ support via their site only for Cold war, at least that is  the only combat mission game in their list, and their support never replies to my tickets.
