Alright,
I was wondering about what everyone thought of the market garden module? Would you say it is worth the money? I've heard the maps are better for 4.0 so I am tempted. Chuck your thoughts of the module my way I am very grateful

Ahh right.. thanks for the help mate

Hi all,
i was just curious as to why there aren't tank riders in BN?? Is it a historical reason why? Because they are in FB and RT. Thank you everyone

Alright everyone,
was just wondering if any of you knew any good combat mission youtubers? Or just a few channels that play it occasionally? Thank you

There are different opinions of course. My opinion is play Iron. It is not a harder skill level in the traditional sense. It actually gives you more information about your friendly units and their situational awareness. The manual is not as clear as it could be on the subject which I think leads to some misunderstandings about how Iron works. Below is a link to a discussion on skill level iron.
Thank you very much!

Thank you everyone! I earned a few quid and bought both games, I couldn't resist. Thank you for all the information it was extremely helpful!

I think small scale surrenders happen more frequently for isolated units (no C2 and friendlies in sight) with very very bad morale and no safe retreat paths (for the units best of knowledge). A minus leader also appears to trigger that more oftenly. One the reasons I play Iron mode only, as it gives some idea how a unit "feels" and appreciates its own situation on the battlefield.
Iron difficulty is recommended then?

I first got final blitzkrieg, I really love the era but the only features it has that CMBN doesn't are tank riders and more modern weapons I think. I couldn't resist and had to buy the Normandy + commonwealth bundle and the quality is the same due to the V4 update and I haven't been let down. With both games the battles you can have is endless and I can guarantee you will enjoy it too. It's your choice so get which one appeals to you more. Personally FB is more open with less cover available due to most of the fighting being in the Ardennes region whereas CMBN is different as there is more cover due to hedgerows.
Theyre both amazing games so good luck in deciding which one you want!

If you mean individual squads and units surrendering then that behavior is not tied to the type of game you are playing. It happens in all battles when the circumstances are right.
Thanks mate

AI surrenders occur in standalone scenarios, campaign scenarios and QBs. I can't recall what the threshold is but when the AI sustains the threshold level of casualties (probably in the 60-70% ballpark) it automatically surrenders.
I barely see them in quick battles weirdly, but it's good to know that they can still occur! Thank you very much mate

I was wondering that enemies surrendering is only a feature in campaign missions and not in quick battles?
I really hope it is also a feature in quick battles though but I have a feeling that it's limited to only the campaigns as I haven't seen any AI troops surrendering in quick battles.
Thank you everyone for your help with my recent questions it is greatly appreciated

BTW, and this may have been expressed already, if you are setting up a QB and purchasing artillery, those types of arty that require an FO will be so designated.
Michael
Cheers Michael! I will remember that

Be sure to read your mission briefing, sometimes you are given heavy artillery assets specifically to allow for a pre-planned barrage.
No matter what type of FO's or HQ's you have, pre-planned barrages can be set by anyone, and always arrive on target.
Thanks for the info!

Normally, in CMBN, a HQ can call in most artillery assets. But a few of the heavy artillery assets and air support need an FO.
Thank you! That's good to know for next time

Do you have an FO team in the particular battle that you are fighting?
Ahh I did not.. that is definitley the reason. Thank you for reminding me!

What type of HQ team do have that is attempting to call and is the officer in the team still alive? What type of howitzer unit is he trying to request?
I tried calling it in with a platoon HQ which didn't work and I also attempted with a company HQ (I was using a basic british motor battalion in the game) which also said the the howitzer ws declined. It was just a (heavy) howitzer from the british army.
