  1. Newb to CMRT but played alot of CMx1 a while back inlcuding online so im not too bad. Followed this guide http://www.theblitz.org/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=61497 Now need someones email for dropbox, and they need to have dropbox themselves according to the guide. the game will be German attack Small 30 min Village Mix forces Preview allowed 1944 July Day/clear weather Loose rarity Warrior difficulty I will play as German, as 90% of my game time thus far has been the German campaign which I have finnally completed. I either expect to get my ass handed or find am oppenent of similar level If you are also newbish or feel more newbish then me, feel free to msg me and we can play another game on your terms. Thx. Message me your email if your interested.
  2. But you can't adjust mission unless your spotter has LOS? So how will this work? I tried this and I couldnt adjust the pre planned fire mission as it required the spotter to have LOS?
  3. Quick - 2-4 rounds Short - 6-12 rounds Medium - 12-18 rounds Long - 20-28 rounds Maximum - exhausts ammo supply from the Manual... So if I ordered a quick fire mission....and it took 3 spotting rounds.... fire for effect would be 1 round?
  4. Not too sure if this is intended but, when using ON MAP 81mm mortars (or mortars in general?), it seems to make zero difference if the spotter is in shouting distance (mortar section HQ) or a random squad leader on the other side of the map using radio. They both have the same estimated delay when calling in fire,I would have thoguht a mortar spotter in shouting distance would call them in a lot quicker then someone else on the other side on the map via C2/Radio. Am I doing something wrong? If this is indeed intended I see no point in using on map 81mm unless its for direct fire which im yet to try out, please confirm that it's intended or I'm doing something wrong. And while on mortars.... -How viable is using 81mm mortars as direct fire? I'm playing the German campaign and have so far "thought" of it too risky to use this way especially as im attacking, about to risk it and try anyway though...tips? -If I use a pre planned fire mission, or even a 10 - 15 minute fire mission.... is there a way to add time to delay it even more like in CMx1? confused to why you would not be able too, adjust fire in general seems pretty pointless from my experiance thus far but im still pretty newbishg to CMx2, -Spotting rounds are not counted as rounds for the fire mission im guessing? Thx.
  5. Thx for replys, I knew about the varible time limit as it had in CMx1, played 3 games where there was no varible time, then a game where there was +15 minutes so thrugh me off I thought there was an objective I missed or something. thx.
  6. Extra 15 minutes? why? why not just include that time in the normal time? How do I know there is an extra 15 minutes for future missions? I read the CMBN manual as it seems to have more details, Im guessing I allowed too much Russian Infantry and tanks to escape, How do I tell for future scenerios where the exit point is? I would have thought a cease fire would have caused me to lose points, guess I was wrong.
  7. So I'm playing the German Campaign "blunt the Spear".... And I have all four victory locations with no Russians in sight, The timer has counted down to Zero but has now turned red and has gone into overtime?? Im 10 minutes into the red so far... How do I win this mission? Am I forced to cease fire? I tried to cease fire but I got only a minor victory.... I reviewed the map and all they have left is one member of a spotter team and a tank hunter team hiding in the woods. Do I need to cease fire just because these 3 guys are still alive? Time doesnt run out? Won't cease fire impact my final score/victory? What is the point of the game time/timer? if it just go's into overtime once it has finished.... Im new to CMx2 b ut played a lot of CMx1. thx.
  8. And also if anyone could link some posts/guides for graphic settings that would be good, I already have done some searching and tried various graphic settings and my machine is pretty good. But CMx2 seems to be fair choppy/slower then it should be, or is it likehis for everyone? as in not optimized that well. Win7 64bit PRO Processor IntelĀ® Core i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60GHz, 3601 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s) Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB GeForce GTX 970 Driver (353.06)
  9. Thx for the answers guys helped a lot, I'm still playing around with single player for now but i'll look into the two methods for PBEM listed here soon enough, should be good. Do you mean with every turn there is now one less file theat needs to be sent, as in a game will now take half the amount of back and forward emails as compared to cmx1?
  10. So I'm new to CMx2 but played a lot of CMx1 mainly CMBB/CMAK so I have picked up everything quite well and almost ready for multiplayer but there a few things I can't get my head around.... First of what are those 3 buttons above the UI here you issue Move/Attack/admin orders etc? One does some sort of pause while the other 2 I'm not quite sure? Nothing is said in the manual about them... So turn based play no longer available by TCP/IP? if this is the case is there a chat or many people that play real time? I don't like the idea of real time thus far but wouldn't mine TCP/IP later on when I get better. From what I read nothing has changed in the way PBEM is handled as in... I get email, manually move file to folder, start up game, load file, make turn, then attach file, then send. Is there an easier way or less "fidgety" way to do this now? I just use gmail and do everything manually.... So you can turn on always show move paths which is fine, no always show targeting? or show when a unit is being targeted tracked etc like in CMBB/CMAK? And finally, Battle front toolbar? what is this? the only explanation I can find is from people who make/want you to download it, does anyone actually use it? Is it good to find opponents with it? I'd like to know if it's popular it just seems like fluff and possible future /spyware/adware/clutter. If it does nothing to help my Combat mission experience it's pretty much useless to me... Thank you to anyone who answers my questions And pre empt apology for people who say "google it" "use search feature" cause I tried. -PanzerShrimp
