  1.   George MC, much thanks, but on my fourth try I found what I was doing wrong.  It was my fooling around with a setting the Camera Control Mode, RTS, FPS, and the one that worked for me "Standard". Now I can once more zoom 10,000 ft. into the clouds.                   Your ColSaid (Ret)

  2.   Been away from playing CBMRT for over a year, then I found the up grade.  I've for got some things it seems.    Yes I've been reading the manual, but this I'm puzzled by, and I see no search the forms.   In setting up the game options you know where you chose "sound on off" is where I think I'm messing up.  Anyways, when I start a game where I'm to set up my units before I hit the red bar, I can't zoom out to see the whole map. I've change the setting on, off, up, down, this and that, but I'm still not much higher then a few feet above units. Now the first few quick battles games  that I played did let me zoom out.  Now that I messed with the setting I don't remember what the defaults were.

      I'm playing Red Thunder on a Dell XPS 8900, Windows 10 Pro 64bit, i76800k 3.40Ghz Turbo is up to 4.01GHz, 16GB ram, GeForce 1070 8GB, 1920x1080.

  3. I just finished reading a thread by Michael Emrys, back in May 2014.Its 8 pages back. Titled "Too many difficulty levels". Found it amusing, seeing how things are debated, by CM's Seniors, (I take it was before the manual went to print). I'm one that plays with the Manual close by, (printed).

It got me to wondering if I have the right under standing of how the different "Levels" make the game easy- and- hard. Let me see it I have this right, (and I've just re read Skill Levels) .

Easy is that the player will get all the information plus extra help, extra fast, (faster treating wounded and so on). While on up to Iron, you'll receive less and less extra help, (more and more like real life, (more or less) like in real life).

That's my understanding of how it works, more or less. So is this correct ?

And one other thing, is this happening with the AI's team too ? Does this hinder the AI, on any of the levels ? Will the AI always be running at its best, (I haven't gone very far reading in "The Editor") ?

  4. Anyone have a more effective way of attacking a defensive line covering open ground my plan is usually call artillery and drop smoke and move up and use armor to cover my advance but what usually happens is there is a bunker or mines in great positions like corners if the map and it makes it inpossible to flank it plus so my troops are funneled down small passages i play soviets the men break so fast so they run away and get pinned really fast then they get tired from panicking and running back and attacking the line again then my special units like flamethrowers dont have anyone supressing. and they usually get massacured and they cant take the objtive and its very frustrating

so how should i attack bunkers without armor or when they are in a thick forest where armor cant hit them

    Hi jerom 2142 !

What scenario are you playing, and is it in, "Quick Battle" or "Battle" ? Also what "Skill Levels" ( page 29, Game Engine Manual 3v) Basic Training, Veteran, Warrior, Elite, Iron. With that information I'll take a look see.

I'm not claiming I have the expert T's, mine you, just like to try myself . The AI works real good.

  5. I've been wondering if there is any thread or any other part of this web site that one post "wanted appoint", (other then sending a "private message") Besides most all the post that I have looked at have been seniors . I'm still learning, (I've just started playing in veterans mod) so I would like someone on my level of play. You Know matching experience. Just looking ahead. Thanks ColSaid

  6. Yes, I'm new to CM gaming. RT (red Thunder) is my 1st, so I've been read in RT forums when time permits. I was reading one thread started by "LukeFF" dated yesterday I think, an there was talk about game play, (turn base, ect. ect) an someone was saying that they liked playing in "We-Go". I've just reread "Gameplay Styles" in the Game Engine Manual v 3.00 an it is not mentioned. Is this a play style in CM's other games ?

    Thanks ColSaid

Oh! LukeFF thread titled "Rewind for real-time gameplay", dated yesterday.
