That penal company should help you find any mines.

If we knew more about how situational awareness is modelled in the game, we could probably better understand what happend.
As seen on the pictures we have a tank platoon facing away from the camera (and the at team). If infantry supported their flanks and rear, the platoon leader would probably not spend time to scan other directions and not passing targets to his gunner. I wouldnt say what happend is unrealistic, I dont have the whole picture and I certainly dont know how the game handle situational awareness.
I totally agree. We can spend hours talking about spotting problem or similar, but the truth is that we DO NOT KNOW how the Combat Mission engine models spotting and situational awareness.
It could be a bug or working as designed by the programmers (maybe a nearby friendly unit warned the TC or in CM tanks have a small chance to spot the enemy 360° even if buttoned, who knows?).
As a player I would like to have more detailed information from the game: spotting (which unit is spotting the enemy ones), mm of armour penetrated, etc. If this goes agains FOW, give us a "verbose" mode or a log file...
The more information, the better, IMVHO.

Did you by any chance start the scenario before installing GL? This is the kind of glitch that seems to work its way in when updating a game in progress (even if you save it during the orders phase).
Mmmm, it could be, my opponent bought GL after me and probabily the scenario was already going. I have to check with him. Thanks.

Hello,
I am playing "Lemon Hill" scenario with the Italians. I have three Brixia 45mm mortar squads, they show up in the artillery support panel but they're "KNOCKED OUT". The squads are still intact, the weapon is deployed and they fire normally in direct fire. Both me and my opponent have latest patch and Gustav Line module installed.
Screen attached.

Any news from the maker of the Series? The videos were superb! Now they're private, I cannot view them anymore.

Vehicles pathfinding in building need to be improved. It's a nightmare in PBEM games.
It's my 1st issue with "city fighting" in CMx2.

Any hint on the (AT?) weapon used in this footage?

Hi,
Although I like the CM editor very much (I'm planning to make a few PBEM scenarios for CMFI), I find it could be very useful to view the unit costs for balancing purpose (like for QBs). It could be an interesting addition to the game in future patches / CM 3.0.

I prefer CMFI for the terrain (I cannot stand bocage ), but CMBN + CW has more scenarios and more units.
Also, for CMFI the new module "Gustav Line" (with a lot of new formations and units) is coming soon.
Right now I would buy CMBN + CW and wait for CMFI + Gustav Line bundle.

Most WeGo (I play WeGo only in PBEM, i tried RT against the AI but I prefer WeGo also in single player).

I'm 36 years old.
I found CMBO in a store many years ago and liked CM since then.
-
I play on Iron. It's a little bit more realistic than Elite in that your own units do not automatically spot each other when in LOS of each other.
+1.
Iron in RT (only vs AI) or WeGo vs human opponents.
Bye.

Thanks guys!

Hi,
is there a way to use a campaing map for a user made scenario?
I like very much the map in the second and third missions of Advanced Training campaign.
Can I use this map in the editor for my scenario? How?
Thanks in advance,
bye

Merry Christmas to you all!

Hope you enjoy...

Thanks.
Before reading this discussion, I've tried quite everything to rotate those damned trenches: CTRL + left clicking, right clicking, going to 3d preview to rotate them like flavour object.
I didn't try to connect them...
AAARGH!!!!

Is there a way in CMSF to know which unit and weapon hit another unit.
E.g. : I saw an enemy bradley hit by one of my ATGM team. Can I get the info of which unit or weapon destroyed the enemy AFV?
Thanks.

I'm curious, what did it do exactly?
+1 and bump!

3. CM: Shock Force 2. Our return to modern warfare is long overdue! Given how close Shock Force 1 was at predicting a conventional conflict in Syria, we're a little nervous about choosing a topic this time around
:D
Especially because we've chosen to simulate a full spectrum conventional conflict between NATO and Russia in the Ukraine. This gives players a rich tactical environment to explore with the most advanced militaries the world has ever seen.Hi Moon, any plans to offer an "upgrade" to the old CMSF engine with this release?

I can't believe that we still used R35 in Sicily in 1943...
