Are both CMBN and CMFB version 4.x ? Generally they should both work regardless of version (though CMBN would have to be version 2.x or later to be compatible with Windows 10). Generally if CMBN works, then CMFB should work

Were you able to activate the license key for CMFB or did the game crash before allowing you to activate it ? Typically the games do NOT need to use the compatibility mode, though some users said it allowed the games to work for them.

Was it necessary to possibly add CMBN and/or CMFB as an exception/white-list in your security software ? What security software do you use ?

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I tried reinstalling the games to my desktop PC which has a more robust video card. They all installed and are running (except for FB, which is missing its .brz files for some reason).

But now my mouse doesn't work.

  2. Thanks, y'all. So do I download my purchased version of CW bundle and apply upgrades then? Do I download and install the CW bundle and apply upgrades? I'm unsure because my current version of CMBN shows ver. 4.

I think that it's extremely shi**y that they keep charging for upgrades.

  3. Have reinstalled after years of being away. I tried to download and install CMBN commonwealth over the new version 4 but it crashed and had to reinstall.

    Help, s'il vous plait.

The pic below is the version of CMBN CW bundle on my account download page. So do I have to re-purchase my CW bundle to version four?

  4. OK, yes, the Germans have slightly less. There's no way to take both towns with the forces on hand. Three Inf. platoons with no MG's. What pioneer platoon? There's a pair of jeeps with one half section that has some demo charges.

Besides, B co. has to be exited with most of it's men; no way to do that without armor.

At least that's the way I see it.

If there's some secret to figuring this scenario out, then maybe somebody can clue me in.

  5. Each of the two towns each have as many German forces as what you start with as the attacker, (quantitatively speaking) with minimal arty and NO A$$. No armor, no air support and minimal arty...doesn't sound very "Normandy" to me...

I also noticed that the Brits tend to squeal and cry and cower the moment they get any lead thrown their way.

    Suggestions?

Or is it one of those "you are meant to lose this battle" scenarios?

  6. There is a sequence in the Canadian doco "The Valor And The Horror" where a Canadian tanker talks about taking shots at the gun mantlet on purpose- he claimed that the German gun mantlets were so thick that if you hit it in the right place the shot would often ricochet downwards over the driver's position where the armour was nowhere nearly as thick and the tank would be immobilized. The interviewer looks dubious and says something like "Really??" the tanker goes on to say, "well, sometimes you have to take a chance".

By the by- I was playing the second scenario of "The Scottish Corridor" and one of my 6-lbers accounted for both Tigers. The first one- the first shot stunned him, on the second hit he reversed and showed a little side and the third one brewed him up. I was quite surprised.

On a side note- I'm wondering why there is no APDS modeled in the game....

  7. My wishlist?

    1. Scrounging. Plucking potatomashers from dead Germans for use against their living comrades would be nice.

    2. Flamethrowers.

    3. H2H combat. Give them cold steel!! They did in CC. Why the fudge not here?

4, A MUCH, much revamped targeting model. I should not have my LOS to a building blocked by a low hedge. It insults my interrigence.

  8. I was trying to Acquire a schrek last night. My 2 man team lost the original shrek gunner so I wanted the other guy to pick it up and help me out but he wouldn't do it. Very frustrating.

If you form an antitank team out of a full (or mostly full) squad they will most definitely be able to acquire the weapon.

I wish I had known about this command a long time ago. All those extra zooks would have come in verrry handy with all the building clearing I find I'm doing. Having AT teams running about with full loads of 8 or 10 rounds never hurts, either. Now I use PIATs for building clearing, which is rather a bit of fun.
