  1. I downloaded the patch- it failed to fix the problem. In fact I now find I cannot even access either the downloaded full game or the demo (which ran fine). When I click on the icons I get a message that the program has been changed and it keeps trying to delete the link. Same thing when I go into the program section, I cannot open from there either, I'm screwed. I am running Windows 7. I also am not real savvy about this stuff. I have Global Conflict WWII and really enjoy it. I think this game still has some issues for some people. I wonder if I couldn't just get a chargeback and maybe try again in a few months after some of the bugs are worked out? Let me know if this helps,
  2. I previously downloaded and ran the demo so today paid for and downloaded the full game. It appears to have installed ok but I cannot open it. It gets to the main menu then when I click to play a game it says 'loading' and never goes anywhere after that. It also freezes up the screen and I have to log off to get out. Should I reinstall? What? Additional note- I tried customer support- they say my password is invalid even though I had it reset today so cannot contact anyone. When scrolling through the stuff theynhave on common problems I found this gem of a comment for my situation: 'Windows Vista and Windows 7 have introduced the so-called "User Access Control" feature. Many people do not even know about it, but it affects many things that you do in Windows. User Access Control (short UAC) provides an extra layer of security that requires additional administrator privileges (often beyond the 'computer administrator-level' access that most accounts have)...' Looks like I just blew $45. Makes me sick...
  3. What has anyone found to be a good strategy for the Axis player to take this territory? I always gho in with what I think is vastly superior force, land air and ships, then cannot take the capital and wind up blogged down for the rest of the game with forces tied up. Ideas?
  4. Thanks, will see if that works. In the Axis of Evil, the Pacific becomes an allied lake. US and Japan control it all. Only two ports for the Russians, Vladavostok is quickly taken by Japan and the other soon follows. It's almost impossible to mount any sea offensive as the Russian in the Pacific.
  5. Sorry if this seems dumb- I currently am playing the Axis of Evil scenerio and have had very good success as the Axis, so much so that my German forces have now invaded the US. Is it possible to eventually move them to the Pacific coast? I don't understand how the arrow thing on the map works, can you move units across the line to have them appear on the other side, or not? I am playing this set at novice level. It's a bit odd that the AI keeps churning out American forces on the Pacific and sending them across the Pacific while half the US is occupied! Probably this situation doesn't happen too often. Comments?
  6. I bought this game recently, think I got an older version that probably needs to be updated but anyway- I am trying to use the editor to make modifications- I get all the units placed and alliances re-aligned, etc but then cannot save any of my work. I cannot overwrite the existing campaign, of course. But when I try to do a 'save as' my system locks up. I left it alone for awhile and it still is on the clock after 30 minutes so assume it's a lost cause. Any suggestions? I had the European comflict game for years and played the hell out of it and was always able to create interesting modifications. Am running Windows 7 with lots of disk space so what's the problem? Many thanks.
