  1. Hello Papa,

I can start a PBEM game with you. We can play a 1000 point QB, Meeting, Combined Arms, Village, couple Random Settings ( Date, Weather )...I only play AXIS in BB.

    Hi Joe,

That's great. My email is foxcolm at yahoo.ie Do you mind hosting the game. Any recommendations on what mods to use?

  2. Hey,

Wouldn't mind trying a PBEM game of one of the smaller scenarios from Breakthrough. Have played the Balkan War scenario against the AI a few times and it was enjoyable. Probably balanced in favour of Allies but not by too much. Don't mind which side.

    If interested PM me!

    Cheers

Not too many interested in the scenario (zero) :/ . I am still up for a go of any of the other breakthrough scenarios. I would overestimate my ability at intermediate level! I should be able to do at least a turn a day.

  3. I find the “collected/spent/lost” graph a bit confusing, one wonders where Britain has spent the remaining 1000 MPP’s (1565 collected, 302 spent on units, 275 spent on research) and which units the Prussians have lost to a cost of 7500 MPP, more than anyone else despite losing fewer units total than the British. Any insights here?

    Re-enforcing/upgrading?

  4. Sending a unit through the desert to capture a town which your not too sure is going to be defended or not IMO is in the spirit of the game and in the type of conflict at the time. High risk = high reward.

I would be pretty confident that this is not the only scenario where this could occur.

Strategiclayabout does make a good point about poorly mapped terrain and angry local populace but you could also say that a thousand very thirsty, hungry and desperate german cavalrymen would be pretty motivated to overcome a village which may only contain a small garrison.

A rule change may be very difficult, or unnecessary depending on your viewpoint, to implement for SCWW1 but maybe it should be noted for its next incarnation.

  5. Hello Papafourtwo :) ,

    - All units with 0 supply have a 1 AP movement.

    - However, If I remember well, they also have a 1 tile default movement if all adjacent tiles require 2 AP or more but the default tile(s) where the unit will be able to move are always the one(s) with the lowest AP requirement.

-Meaning if you have mountain tiles (4 AP) all around except for 1 hill tile, you can only move on the hill tile (2 AP).

Hope it was clear ^^ .

Thanks very much for your replies.

    Bill.

Is strategiclayabout correct above? Particularly highlighted element.

I have a cavalry unit that can wander freely in an enemies backyard, but I dont think it can capture any towns because it will be in zero supply before it reaches any of them and the nearest town is in hill terrain next to clear terrain.

    Thanks again

  6. Hey,

as usual i am enjoying another one of your AAR's.

I would like to make a quick point about the use of a whole German army in an attack on Serbia. In my opinion i think it is a bit gamey. I'm not saying that it was out of the realms of possibility at the time but was highly unlikely.

German involvement to quickly knock out Serbia can be a major boost to CP's long term chances.

I do think there should be some kind of penalty for CP for this to happen. Maybe operating through am allies territory should be more expensive or some kind of negative impact on units of different nationalities fighting alongside each other. I have seen and heard of the latter been used allot.

Am looking forward to reading rest of this AAR.
