  1. For myself some of the wishes and suggestions go part too far. :(

If to many and/or too far-reaching changes are made to the Strategic Command System - then it is no longer Strategic Command, right?

And - Strategic Command plays with squares.

I needed some time to get used to it. But now, for me, no big deal.

So squares are fine now. Hexes will also be good. :)

What are the advantages and drawbacks on squares vs. hexes?

Myself would like to see faster AI - calculation, and I realy would like to see the geography of a realistic map (size ratio, geographic location and distances of the continents and islands)!!!

  2. Agree Templer, This features should have the opition to be done many times and, if possible, to take away the time limit for the pop-up so it will only disapear when you click, that could be an opition in the menu that you select if you want the resume turn pop-up to disapear after some seconds or only when you click.

Ah yes, I have not thought of the time limit .

Yes, I think it's also good if you could set an option that the message will disappear only when you "click".

I'm not familiar with programming, but I hope that the realization of "repeat as many times as you want" and "stay till click" shouldn't be to difficult for a professional such as Hubert Cater . :)

  3. Game Description:

"Added to 'L' hotkey that will re-display the last turn summaries for reference. This is a handy feature for those that like to do something else during the AI or our opponent's turn."

This is a really useful feature but the feature works only once per round!.

Also, I do occasionally something else during the AI period.

If I can not read fast enough or the phone rings, for example, I've had bad luck because I can not use the 'L' hotkey feature in the same round again.

Change/improve or repaire this issue as soon as possible please!

  5. "Sorry for the spelling errors in post # 1

I was tired and used my small iPhone in bed.

    So it's:

    Entrenchment facing is not important.

    Also I found:

    Entrenchment facing is important.

    So what's the truth now?

One other thing I noticed with this is that the defensive bonus information is not showing up properly for the estimated combat odds display and I've corrected this as well.

I'd say it is more probably for aesthetic reasons to use a 1 sided trench, i.e. depending on how you would like the trench lines to flow but since most players just automatically go to 2 sided trenches it has been suggested that this become the default and we have changed it to this for the first patch.

Nevertheless, if attacked in the rear then you won't benefit from the extra bonuses to your combat factor that the existence of the trench provides. So, if the enemy start to breakthrough and outflank you, you may need to change your facing, retire, or go boldly into a counterattack!

  6. My system:

    Windows XP

Pentium IV 3 GHz with Hyper-Threading Technology

    2.75 GB of RAM

Video card: ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series 1024 MB

    Kaspersky Internet Security

My system exceeds the minimum requirements I guess.

In a direct comparison I now see that the demo of Strategic Command WWII Global Conflict runs smoother and faster (scrolling, selection of units...) then my Strategic Command WWI The Great War 1914 - 1918 (v1.04).

For the scrolling issue I would not say sluggish - I would rather describe it with the word "stutter".

Also the AI is faster in the demo for Global Conflict Gold!

    How can that be?

That's the way it should work?

    I'm confused, puzzled, annoyed. :confused::mad:

I don't know now if I will purchase Strategic Command WWII Global Conflict Gold in the future - but I know that I currently want to play my WWI The Great War properly! :(

  7. I known the Strategic Command series for a while but only after the good review, especially after a good conclusion on Gamershall, I decided to take a closer look of the series and I have finally Strategic Command - World War 1: The Great War 1914-1918 now.

    I'm very satisfied so far.

For time reasons, I do not always sit in front of my computer during the AI phase.

So I unfortunately I miss most, if not all, the reports, events, and scripts.

Where or how can I read them again after the AI phase?
