  1. Depends on your funds, what kind of gaming over all you would like to do.

I replaced my desktop with a Sager 8150 so I could have the power, yet portability at the same time.

15.6” Full HD 16:9 Wide screen (1920x1080) LED-Backlit Display with Super Clear Glare Type screen

    nVIDIA GeForce GTX 485M 256bit w/2.0GB GDDR5

    Intel® Core™ i7-2720QM (2.2~3.3GHz, 45W) w/6M L3 Cache - 4 Cores - 8 Threads

IC Diamond Thermal Compound - CPU + GPU

    8GB (2x4GB SODIMMS) DDR3/1333 Dual Channel Memory

    120GB Intel SSD

    6x Blu-Ray Reader/8x Super Multi Combo Drive

7-in-1 Memory Card Reader (All versions of MS + SD/MMC)

    Built-in Intel® Centrino® Ultimate-N 6300 Wireless Card

    8 Cell Smart Lithium-Ion Battery 76.96Wh

Full Range 180W Auto Switching AC Adapter

  2. Just to let you know things are rolling along nicely (if all the activity from us wasn't a hint ;)) and we are nearly there. We don't want to jinx ourselves with an exact date, but roughly speaking here's where we are at:

    1. Manuals are at the printers and should be back at the end of next week.

    2. We have everything we need for the Demo, but we're still in the process of making/testing the special Demo EXE/App for the PC/Mac Demos.

    3. With the next build for the testers will be officially be in the Final Candidate stage of testing. This is after Beta but before Gold Master. Final Candidate is to catch any glaring rough edges, like a missing graphic or what not. We're "done" making significant code changes so we won't risk introducing new issues into the gameplay. We're actually NEVER really "done", but if we don't think that way then you'll never get to play the darned thing :D

So... that's where we stand. For those of you trying to project a ship date... here's a hint. It won't be this coming Friday, that's for sure. How soon could it be? Depends on how Final Candidate and Gold Master testing go, as well as the manuals being ready and other standard variables.

    Steve

P.S. Bone -> there are three scenarios for the Demo. One attack as Germans, one attack as Americans, one Tutorial as Americans. The latter is designed to give newbies a "cake walk" scenario to learn how to play the game before diving into the other two battles. It's an adaptation from the longer Tutorial included in the game itself.

    Wow.. What a disappointment.

So much for the end of April.

Now at best it looks like the middle to end of May.

  3. D) If it completely ruins the game for you, then I suggest you wait several months until the 2nd printing, while the rest of us are having a blast playing CM:BN.

    Have a great day.

The only printed copies are for pre-orders.... Unless I am mistaken?

Part of the Tin Box was setup to hold the printed book.

For me the box and the printed book was incentive to pre-order and I am disappointed that in just a few hours of review, so many errors have been pointed out.

Hopefully this can be turned into a learning lesson that you have an entire group that is willing to make the manual correct from the get go, cost = nothing.

Also, I never said it would ruin my experience of the game nor the company, my expatiations of Battlefront are higher because they deliver a quality product.

As you have said, its a moot point because they have already been printed.

  4. Over the years I have noticed two clear things.

Group A that defends Battlefront without question, even after the mess that was version 1.00 of Shock Force. I stayed with it and the game did in fact get fixed over time. Most companies would have just called it a day.

Group B that attacks Battlefront because they cannot do anything right.

    I am neither.

I don't really care how many book reports, books, etc anyone on these forums can tear up or not.

The company BF clearly likes to point out over and over again, they do not do business in the same manor as the next guy, nor do they follow the industry standards of screwing the customer over again and again.

Because of this, they have a good fan base that eagerly looks forward to their products and or expansions. I am one of those fans.

BF also stands behind their games with updates in ways no company does.

Do I expect the manual to be perfect? No.

Will the manual be perfect? No.

However, in it's current condition it should not be released for printing.

  5. We won't be printing a new manual and sending it to people for free if that's what you mean :) But errors are noted and, if/when a revision of the manual is necessary at some point, spelling mistakes etc. can be corrected in the next PDF iteration (e.g. released as part of a module), as well as in a new online version. The CMSF manual available for viewing online is v1.21 IIRC, and differs substantially from the v1.00 version (in more than just grammar ;))

Long time lurker, looking forward to the new game, I have pre-ordered.

I can only speak for myself to say I will be very disappointed if the errors that have been pointed out make the printed tin case book.

I didn't pre-order the game, only to have these types of print errors.

I expect the quality of your product to be better then the next guy.
