  1. There's 1st impression threads and tech problems/support threads. How about a things you've seen thread?

I was leap-frogging through the hedges when, during the replay, I noticed a knot of enemy troops suddenly appeared; lying dead and wounded. I rewound the replay and started the replay again focused on that spot. A German pixeltruppen was in the process of tossing a potato masher over the hedgerow when he was hit by gunfire. The potato masher fell from his hand and landed among him and his buddies. The explosion messed up the whole squad.

I downloaded Fraps right after that. I've got to get this stuff on 'film'.

  2. The environments look better than they did in the demo--at least I think they do.

All the weather types are a prodigious accomplishment.

I had a great sense of appreciation when I realized I'll be playing this game for years to come. It's very rare where that happens--for me at least. I play all sorts of games and have been doing so for many years. I can count on one hand's worth of fingers the number of games that fall into the permanent collection category. :) I know we can't name other game names, but I bet you all have a few like that too.

    Way to go, BF!

    Now, back to the war...

  3. In my 4 play-through's of RtB as Allies, my mortars are what I'd expect. However, the German side's mortars are sometimes wacky. The last play-through they fired-for-effect on top of their own troops. The spotter was most likely very much suppressed and that might be why. The 1st time I played this scenario, I lolly-gagged around and got hammered by the German mortars.

So, I tend to think it has to do with LOS and suppression...i guess.

  4. It's wonderful. :D

It runs great at max-max. It looks fantastic. I'll put my specs at the bottom.

I've been playing CMSF the last few weeks and have enjoyed my time with it. But there's something about the setting and armies of the 1940's that's--for lack of a better word--charming. I was sucked-in as soon as the map displayed.

I love the detail, animations, sounds...all of it. The mortar teams, the c-rations and ammo boxes tied to the tanks; it's all just super.

    Great job you guys.

I don't know what my fps was. It wasn't a problem, whatever it was.
