Hi guys
Lot of text regarding to ours wishes to a new CM...?
Can nobody including in the forum a table system of vote to recognize and inform BF, our "big brother" the game that we would like to see ??
I do not think this forum supports or allows or in other words is capable of having a poll etc. in a post - seems other forums on the internet have a "poll" button to click on and then one can be create wherein people can vote on what they want if in the event someone has posted at Battlefront forums a poll they are a genius. maybe ask them how to do it. I have spent 2 days kinda trying to figure it out

Here is a little something not much
Google "Combat Mission Normandy AND Rangers" AND is in caps this is a Boolean Search.
[ I found some posts regarding your inquiry but was unable post the links in here but google will provide the links with this search ]
What is Boolean Search?
Boolean searches allow you to combine words and phrases using the words AND, OR, NOT and NEAR(otherwise known as Boolean operators) to limit, widen, or define your search. Most Internet search engines and Web directories default to these Boolean search parameters anyway, but a good Web searcher should know how to use basic Boolean operators.

Ok so I played A walk in the sun and got chewed up so I simply edited the scenario a little

Ok so the original manual on page 122 shows the flavor objects the manual that comes with the 311 upgrade does not seem to show the pics of the flavor objects maybe they are somewhere in the manual anyway I made two printable pages of the flavor objects to make it easier to know what you are putting down maybe it will help maybe its to late who knows one is 8.5 by 14 the other is 8.5 by 11 on two pages the 2nd one is a screen shot of a screen shot so its not crisp but it may still help

Assuming these upgrades have problems they should come out initially in beta format ONLY for those willing to experience them and their surprise glitches - THEN when all the bugs get recognized and fixed should it be touted as an actual upgrade. Rather it seems it is being touted as an upgrade and then we have to endure the problems and glitches and hope they get fixed.

Thanks my brain never even remotely thought to pop the guy up and then try to shoot - best as a recon vehicle yeah ..

Ok how do I figure out the wind direction I assume if I know this my smoke I put out will go in that direction.
Ok so the arrow is pointing North so I am looking North Right ?? here is the compass pic blown up closer Ok this is how it looks in the top right. What is 1200 the time ... ok so any way to determine wind direction. ???

Being blessed with being alive and well when Combat Mission Beyond Overlord came out (CMBO) I eventually in my tinkering came across the Armored Utility Car - it would do nothing but move around the map. Once again I bumped into it a while ago with CM Normandy - so today I analyzed it finally and so hence this post.
Ok so I cannot get it to fire on anything not area fire or nothing. It does give one two smokes meaning you can put smoke out the personnel in the vehicle - you can get them to come out of it but if you choose them to be used as reinforcements coming to the front lines under fire in their semi protected vehicle when they jump out - 4 of them - all of them only have a .45 pistol except for one that has a Thompson at least they are using the same ammo.
You can get the driver to pop his head up and down in case you want him to get shot at. IMO this was a vehicle that never got fixed that came with CMBO and now when included with Normandy it has stayed in the same shape
Where am I going wrong ??? Oh it has a .50 cal machine gun on it I have not looked to see if I can see it but it says there is one this is why I tried to do an area fire with the vehicle.

Is version 4 only used with modules besides Normandy I ONLY have Normandy ....

So, do I have to install the original (version 2.0) of the game first after purchase of the 3.0 upgrade or can I just install it from the new 3.0 upgrade all by itself?
Reference my post above but I do not explain myself to well but anyway you simply install the base game and then the 3.0 upgrade - This is assuming the 3.0 up grade you install is the latest version the latest version has the 3.11 patch in it if you do not thing you have the latest version just download 3.0 again ... it is about 12 gigs. So just install the base game and 3.0 thats it forgetabout version 2.0
Now, if you have any modules CW, MG or the vehicle pack .. I have not accurate Idea of how to advise you on that

Yeah Dodging Grenades returning Fire - They do have I assume 1911 colt .45's here is a stopping power chart taken from a 1976 source. - the info is based on stopping power is primarily due to bullet weight and caliber. Velocity is a distant back seat. notice how the .45 compares to other calibers
.45 ACP not the colt they had the ACP

thank you so much for completely answering my question I am saving this info in the event I buy other modules because I only have combat mission normandy base game and that is it I simply installed the base game ... did not try and run it in other words did not try to activate it ... (well, I think this is what I did .. anyway) then I installed the 3.0 patch only and THEN I activated it using the 3.0 key I got when I bought 3.0 and yeah have all this saved to text files copy and paste and because I downloaded 3.0 after the 3.11 patch came out ... I am at version 3.11 now ...
To bad Battlefront can't come up with a simple flow chart in order of how to do a re install to bad its up to use to come up with that ... they come up with paragraphs of info that one has to weed through and then calculate the method to use according to ones situation. they should have a flow chart something like:
Wheeeeee something like this

Ok so I have Combat Mission Normandy and that is it nothing else no modules etc. I just don't want to screw up the install.
So I install Normandy Base Game and then what ... I have the 2.0 upgrade, and the 3.0 upgrade. Oh, when I got the 3.0 upgrade the 3.11 patch was already in it so that may help with your advice.

I guess he went there to drown his cat or what is THAT !!! a bird then he has something behind his back in the other hand - I think its a gun

Yeah, I went and looked at these for the first time... Have to say I'm verrrrrry disappointed. No mortar rounds or handgrenades whatsoever. At least the Allied trucks have a bit more ammoe, but a German "supply" truck doesn't carry more than a "moving troops around" truck. I can understand that you don't want 10 tonne of ordnance in the firing line, but you might as well just take a blank platoon of trucks from another infantry formation.
Hey ho. Maybe they'll get better in future iterations.
Womble I'm glad you checked it out cause I value your input on a lot of things in these forums .... I thought I was missing seeing something but yeah I was hoping to get 30 mm mortar rounds ... did you check out Doug in the previous post looks like they have an ocean now in Tennessee

Whilst we're on that venerable subject, howza'bout bringing back the 'Toggle Weather' key. Setting up a battle in a howling blizzard can be real drudgery!
Yeah I moaned about this years ago all these updates but ya can't turn off weather remember in the original you could even give the the exact amount of ammo you wanted ... on thing if weather gets too bad and its a battle you could probably just edit it out but then that totally changes the scenario but at least you can play it with out mortaring your monitor
-
I don't think that 60mm mortar ammo. I think it's bazooka rounds.
I've played around with the ammo dumps, but only for the Germans. I can't remember if there were any mortar rounds, but when you pick the supply platoon from the units in the editor, you can set whether it's an "infantry" ammo supply or a "weapons" ammo supply.
Just to clarify... 66mm HE.. are rifle grenades.... 60mm HEAT.. are bazooka rounds.
Thanks very helpful

Yeah I thought the same thing
