  1. hmm, seems I'm a rare breed for I enjoy playing CM:SF in real time rather than turn based. I still do pause a ton just so I can reasses the situation.

In any case I guess the angriest moment I had in CM:SF was just now when I had a sniper team so greatly placed and what I believed hidden, only to be blasted away by a lucky shot from an RPG about 400m away. And it was such a nice lookout point!

  2. Hello everybody!

I really enjoy playing CM:SF, but it never really ran very good for me as I had a rather old rig. Well I replaced it recently and finally had the time to reinstall combat mission, I missed a patch inbetween and got that too.

Here's my rig first of all:

    ASUS P5Q Pro

    Quad 2 Core, Q6600

    Gainward HD4870 Golden Sample

    Mushkin 4GB RAM

I'm running the game at 1680x1050, as it's my desktop resolution, with the texture and model settings at balanced. I can run all other games I've tried maxed out without the slightest problem, including Far Cry 2(which I regret trying, not my kind of fun). But this game gives me overall poor preformance, despite being on medium settings. The larger the scenarios, the chuggier it gets. Now I have some doubts that it's the actual graphic components that are the cause of the poor preformance, but rather CPU and memory mishandling. Does anybody have any data how does this game prefrom with multiple cores?

Also, I have the jagged shadows problem, which I posted in the jagged shadows topic.

    Cheers, MehMan
