  1. Arado, i think the Americans were incensed with retribution after the deceitful way it was prosecuted. Remember the USA was a child(ideology of fairness) in contrast to other nations as far as the global scene, wasn't PH seen as justification for a couple of Atom Bombs?

Revenge and Karma aren't always equitable.

There are plenty of ways for the Axis to have a chance for a limited victory after 1941. Say a delayed attack on USSR and more provisions for North Africa with Rommel continuing on into the Mideast. More pressure on Franco, a threatened invasion and Gibraltar succumbs which effectively closes the Med. to the Allies.

How about no DoW on USA after PH by Germany? Now perhaps Japan doesn't do PH and moves more forcibly into the Indian Ocean threatening India, Burma.

Imagine, by 43, Rommel in Iran/Iraq on USSR southern border, Japanese in India back dooring China, Fins in the north pressure Leningrad and Uncle Joe about to feel the full wrath of the Wehrmacht. USA still pursuing isolationism.

Is it such an outlandish turn of events?

It sounds like a Harry Turtledove book!!!!

  2. Normally I respect everyones opinion, but I am having a problem here with Ludi1867 comments, such as I should not be so irritable because Bill has been polite, baloney! Also comments about juvenile thoughts by some members posts. Outside of supply which I have since surrendered on and a few very minor glitches that Bill and Hubert fix correctly almost right away, this is a very well done game and the map is well done, and if the milage is not exactly perfect so what it does its job in the games constrictions. I do not mean to offend Bill or Hubert but this is a beer and pretzles game, meaning a fast well thought out game, I dont believe for a minute that Fury software wanted this to be a War in the Pacific game that nobody plays much because it takes way to long and its learning curve is way to high. Ludi1867 if you are looking for such an intricate game then you should wait to July 2009 when Matrix will release the board game World at War, it has taken five years to construct since they signed {Matrix} with the owner of the board game. I have read all of the forums and how each componet works and I will tell you this, I believe you and most other players will flee back to this game and never complain again. Not because WAW wont be awsome but is it playable? Meaning it might take a year to play one game spending countless hours of frustration, if players are complaining slightly about the time it takes the computer to move all its assets around the map from 1944 and on in this game wait till they see the time element in AI moves in WAW.

Dont mean to be argumenative in any way just frustrated at some comments.

Here, Here!!! Well put. A Great Game!! Not an UGLY Child...

  3. I've never been able to run in Windowed Mode. I was told to wait for the first patch. Patch is installed, but still no Window Mode. What am I doing wrong? The game runs fine in Full Screen, but changing it in the options screen doesn't change anything???

Thanks for any info. Great Game by the way!!!!

  4. Hi Kuniworth,

    Sounds like a fair deal!

I am not sure Hubert or Bill will be adding anymore scenarios to PT, but I can sure craft a game and place it on the file repository.

btw… I posted two new scenarios in the Battlefront repository yesterday (’41 Singapore and ’37 Shanghai). If you get the chance to play them, write and let me know what improvements can be made.

    Robert

Is the user name and password the same for the repository as it is for the forums?

  5. First of all, a Great Game!! I wasn't a big fan of the original Strategic Command, but this one is a "Home Run"...

My question: I can't get the game to run in Window Mode. Is this because I only have 64MB on my video card? Other than this, I'm running without any problems. I do have 1gig of ram and a 3.06 Ghz processor.

    Thanks

  6. The internet connection is needed ONLY ONCE, when you activate the game after the installation. It is not required later on to actually run the game. So if you're hit by one of those nasty Florida monster storms you can still play without any problems (provided your house still stands I guess :)) You only need it again if you'd want to un-license and move it to a new PC.

BTW, it is also possible to activate on a PC that has no internet connection. There is an off-line procedure which requires access to the internet eventually but it doesn't have to be from the same PC where the game is.

    Martin

Well, it seems as though the whole process is pretty seamless. I'm not sure what all of the negative comments asbout e-license were about ???

  7. eLicense is our Digital Rights Management suite. Unlike other horror solutions that phone home or require you to verify your license every x days etc. it's a straightforward online activation solution. You install the game and you activate it. That's it.

On top of it, eLicense allows you to unlicense your game and move it to any other computer you want at any time. You can do this as often as you want, too, so your license never expires.

The only thing that eLicense really does is this: it limits you to 2 activations AT THE SAME TIME with the same key. So you can have the game on your desktop and your laptop with the same key, but you cannot use that key to activate on a third PC until you unlicense one of these previously activated copies.

Other than that, there are no restrictions or behind-your-back schemes. You do not require a CD in drive to play, you can copy and even install the game as often as you like and so forth. You can find an extensive FAQ at www.battlefront.com/faq

Sounds pretty "Simple", I'll check out the faq link...

  8. Besides being a nifty marketing tool, the demo is also meant to be a test for you if you can run a game. We do this because we have a "no refund" policy. But if the demo runs, then it's safe to assume that the full game will run, too. You may have performance issues if you don't meet the min. requirements.

The Demo seems to run Ok. It takes a while for the AI to go through it's routine, but that may be normal? I run it at 1024x768x16 and it works. I'll play with the demo for awhile and see how it works out. My processor is a Pentium 4 at 3.0 GHz. So I should be ok there.

  9. I downloaded the demo and it seemed like this would be a "Fun" game. As I was thinking about buying the game, I came across the requirements. It says that the minimum for video card is 128mb and I only have 64mb on my card. I only have 1 gig of shared ram (minus 64 for the video). I don't feel like buying a new computer to play a game!!

Is anyone running this game on a less than optimum requirements??
