  1. Clavicula_Nox,

You might get your wish ;) They are testing a new uniform at the start of this year. Dunno if they are going to change the lightweight ripstop or not.

All I know is that these wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have made my uniform collecting hobby VERY expensive. Even the minor nations have been through 2-3 iterations of uniforms since the start, despite having perhaps as few as 50 soldiers in theater at a time!

Do you have any Turkish Army camo in your collection, Steve?

  2. Long ago there was a Normandy wargame, Across the Rhine, which was billed as being the "best wargame ever" as it was being developed. Then people started to find out that the game didn't have Waffen SS in it. They said they didn't include it for political sensitivity reasons as well as the Waffen SS not being necessary for the simulation of US combat from Normandy until the collapse of the Reich. Boy didn't that get the grogs a grumbling ;)

As it turned out the game was over ambitious for the hardware of the day, not to mention their development budget, and IIRC the resulting product just didn't have a good reception. Not glitzy enough for the casual crowd, not good enough for the serious wargamer.

While I don't see why any one particular major force type has to be in the initial release of a CM game, they do have to be in the game at some point if we want to be taken seriously as a simulation of a given theater. Since we do want to be taken seriously, obviously the major forces will all (eventually) find their way into a CM game.

I may have missed it, but will we have a German campaign eventually in the Western Front? Please say, yes.

  3. It would be good, if at the call of artillery / aviation support for Syria, to hear radio negotiations (BETTER CERTAINLY ON ARABIC), commenting what be going on, as if you played at US. Such radios negotiations help to be better oriented in that, what stage a process of call of support is on.

Well, iirc, the manual says that in a realistic war scenario between the West and Syria, the Syrian air force will be completely annihilated and can only offer resistance for a very short time. I doubt we'll ever have RED Air Support.

But yes, if we could have it, we would have surely heard it in Arabic.

  4. Hey everyone,

I just have a little question: having recently bought the marines module for CM:SF, I would like to swap some of the marine faces with the US Army ones from the "original" game. In other words, I don't want my troops to look like a clone army, so I want to make some of the Army soldiers have sunglasses (just like the ones in the marines module) and some of the marines don't wear them at all.

Any idea how I can randomize soldier faces? Thanks in advance.

  5. I thought that going gold ment that the disks were being produced for mailing. But for a digital download...I don't know. It's been two weeks. Nothing here from the dev team either. A smart ass (like me) would suggest that they must have gone on vacation. With it taking so long for the digital download business how about going ahead and putting up the 1.10 patch. Thats what I want the most anyway..even though I have preordered Marines.

Oh, I almost forgot: DUCK AND COVER.

  6. Hey all,

I have been playing the game for a few weeks now (it is getting addictive and certainly feels refreshing after countless hours spent in the boots of various WW2 soldiers in every kind of 3d-battlefield imaginable) and I would like to use some of the mods from cmmods.com, but the Read Me files always say that I should locate the "Z" folder inside the main folder where my game is installed.

Unfortunately, there isn't one. Is it because my CMSF is from GamersGate and not from Battlefront? Does the GamersGate version use a different folder?

    Thanks in advance,

    B.
