  1. Neither,in Normandy the place of birth of all coming scenarios, if we can say it that way.

    Periers, Carentan, Sainteny, Sainte Mere l'Eglise, Saint Lo, Cherbourg, Saint Come du Mont, La fiere.............

    They have forgotten you................When I look at the Bronze star of my father earned in that area in july '44, I feel sorry for that omission and many French gamers will.

    Oh, come on.

    No French beta testers, no french preview. It's that simple. ;)

  2. So, while we're at it...

    An interesting thing about the Famas is its ability to fire rifle grenades. It can use the the frag APAV40, the (light) antitank AC58, or even some hand grenades (thanks to a trap bullet).

    The M203 is also used, because intense usage of rifle grenades tends to damage fragile optics.

  3. Bad formulation, my fault (I'm not a native english speaker).

    I wanted to give an indication on how this problem could happen with CMSF, It may be the same conditions on CM:A.

    I played several QB in IP with CMSF (1.10 IIRC), and each Blue VS Blue or Red VS Red we played was cancelled due to this problem. We were attacking the same village starting from the same hills, or starting from the same side of the map.

    I don't have any save (IP), but I made a "joke" to a friend once, surrounding his positions in my/his deployment (witch I anticipate as being the same). I still have the screens, the game last about 42 seconds.

  4. Battlefront is "lonely at the TOP" on his sector, but some others wargames are very good in a different way (and different timeframes).

    I suggest you to take a brief look at :

    - Ageod games, mainly "American civil war" (a must have)

    - The HPS series (old fashion wargames, but historically accurate)

    - the Airborne Assault series ("Conquest of the Aegean")

    - "Steel beast Pro PE" (a modern tank simulator, but not really different from a wargame by some aspects)

    - "Hearts of iron II" from Paradox (HOI III is scheduled before the end of the year)

    - The "close combat" series (with some mods)

    - "Battlefront" (the game from Matrix)

    - ....

    Yes, the plan for CM:SF 2 is to bring modern warfare to a temperate environment and update the military hardware for both sides. That means top end Russian equipment for the Red side as well as taking into account whatever changes happen for all forces between now and then. Oh, and of course all relevant improvements made for Normandy will also be in CM:SF 2.

    Raaaaahhhhhhhhhhh, keep it that way !!!! :D

  6. The NATO Module will not have the French in it. We found that the vehicle and weapons lists for the forces we've chosen were large enough on their own. Adding a uniquely armed force, such as the French or the Italians, was too much additional work.

    What a bad news. :(

    Can we expect a NATO-2 module with the missing forces if NATO is a success ? Or will the NATO module be the last for CMSF anyway ?

  7. I'm currently doing some tests, because the first time I saw that, I was in battle and my first impression may be false.

    The soldiers have apparently been tired by another thing. I made a rush of two groups in a building, one with the "face" command, the other without.

    In my test they are resting normally, at the same rate. So this point is not an issue. Sorry for my mistake.

    In fact with the face command, the soldiers are dancing from window to window from 30 sec to 4 minutes , and then the blue line disappear and they are normally standing in position (before 1.07, they where standing immediately).

    Same thing with the "target arc" command. Some times they are stopping immediately in position, and some other time they are dancing for ages (5 minutes in one of my test).

    It may be to simulate the soldiers searching a good firing position, or trying to look regularly from different windows. But it "look" strange.

    Not a big problem in fact, but the difference between 1.06 and 1.07 made me curious.

    I'm experiencing a little problem with the Face command in buildings. When I was giving this order before 1.07, my guys where running in position, and stay there normally.

    Since 1.07, the soldiers are running in position, but they never stop to run, changing positions at every second. And the blue line never dissapear.

    The problem is similar with the "arc fire" command.

    It's boring because in We-Go they are quikly tired, and not really stealthy !

    I didn't find anything about that on the forum. Did I miss something ? Or did you experiment the problem too ?

    (Sorry for my poor english, I'm french)

    I currently have the same problem whith a PBEM game in 1.05 (scen Hammertime)Battlefront version.

    The previous turn crashed a couple of time when I pressed the red button (3-4 seconds of normal freeze and then CTD) but it finally worked.

    On the other hand the current turn crash at every try. (same problem, 3-4 seconds and then CTD)

    I sent the save to my opponent to see if it can execute the turn on his computer. Witch seems to work, so the game is back on track. I hope the problem will not pop again next turn.
