  1. I love this game (SC-Pacific Theatre), and wanted to see it play out longer than 1946 so I unchecked all of the Victory Scripts and changed the potential end date (using the Editor for the "Z Plan" scenario) to way past 1946. I've gone all the way into 1956 with no problems, but in 1957 & 1958 I have had several hard crashes during the Allied AI turns when all over a sudden a Windows-like little box will come up in the middle of the screen and says "Failed(animate_purchases): Segmentation Violation" during the "Thinking" or "Placement" stage of the Allied AI. This box also has a "OK" button to push and when you push that it crashes the game. Maybe this has something to do with my particular computer (Windows XP) instead of anything related to the Battlefront software. And I haven't installed the v1.01 patch yet (although I read all of the "readme" info about the changes and it didn't seem to mention this specific kind of error in it). Any ideas on how to prevent this from happening? (I used to make SC2:WaW have extended dates too (through changing the Editor too), but never got this error when playing out those games). Thanks, Billy
  2. Just finished my first game of this as the Japanese and hats off to everyone for such a quality game! Especially the aircraft carriers and the weather, as well as the huge scale of the game that allows so many different parts of the map to end up being potential "turning point" locations of the conflict. Two quick questions: Question 1: I think I heard on the History Channel once that the U.S. only had enough material to deliver 6 atomic bombs in '45 (and I think we produced a total of 9 atomic bombs in 1946). So after the 6th bomb fell in this game, I thought Japan would get a break from atomic bombs for a little while, since the historical quality was used up, but I think the game repeats another 6 bombs starting in Dec '45 again with no letup in sight. (I realize I can turn off the repeating bombings in the scripts, but was curious). Question 2: I skimmed the online game manual and didn't find anything in regards to if the atomic bombs on dependant upon the U.S. being in control of islands within a certain range of the country of Japan (if the Japanese kept control of the islands and territories closest to it and out of range of the U.S. bombers, could it delay the Americans' ability to atomic bomb it til '46?) Is that written into the scripts already? Billy
  3. Angus- I finished a Fall Weiss game with your new counters and I loved 'em. Great work. Especially the ships and the amph. assault vehicle graphics, very good. It especially makes the ship battles seem in better perspective in terms of the actual relative size of the ships fighting each other. And the Special Forces units look especially good too. Thanks for doing all of them!
  4. I like this idea. Because right now, with the exception of the "lend lease" starting when America hits 40%, there doesn't appear to be any other significant details that happen with not-at-war countries when their %s are below 95%. Because spending on diplomacy all the way to get someone from 0 to 100% usually takes a lot of time & money, it sometimes seems like something to consider at the very beginning of the game but by later in the game it seems less worth it, but with certain benefits for getting certain countries to 50%, I think we'd see more variety of diplomatic spending done throughout the whole game, probably increasing the overall suspense of the game.
  5. Angus- I am very impressed with the quality of these counters and look forward to being able to download them at the cmmods site when it is possible. I also like have you have the tank units with colored backgrounds (black German, red Soviet) and the larger naval units actually seem well suited to the scale of the game and being able to quickly and easily distinguish what you're scanning for offensive or defensive considerations. I used to play speed chess and if there was ever a "speed WaW" where a 2 minute timer required quick thinking and action decision play by each player, using your better-to-judge counters would be ideal for that as well. Best wishes on your completion of your counters which could certainly be a good addition to what is already a quite impressive game!
