  1. My thoughts on 1.08 ?

Good to see the prompt release of the Paradox CD version patch (keeping in mind that "Theatre of War"/Apokalypso version - desaster).

@ TC: Darren says it - check the CCC. I had the same flickering effects with a Radeon until I finally unchecked Vsync in the Catalyst Control Center.

    Greetings - Egon

  4. ... rgr that and thx-a-lot, YankeeDog !

I guess my scenario will look great with some burning taxis ("OMG ! Lots of civilian cars were shot up there" - "Negative, Sir, those were Syrian SpecOps Spy taxis !")

Spies could help also. My current map project has a 3.750 x 3.750 km grid.

BTW: the map is almost finished, looking forward to add troops, attack plans etc. soon (the funny part of the job). Then, endless days of testing and finetuning. I still wonder how some guys manage to finish full 5-8 scenario CAMPAIGNS without getting mad. I had to give my project a break, lately, when I realized that I had begun dreaming at night about this certain location in the Syrian desert. smile.gif

    Greetings - Egon

  5. Howdy !

    1. What are those "Syrian spies" for and how would they make sense in my next scenario ?

    2. Is there a method to have some taxis and Toyotas in a scenario (for decorative reasons only) without spoiling the game results with scores for destroyed vehicles ?

    3. Is CM:SF capable of saving different camera positions (yes, I know there is a wonderful .pdf-manual but unfortunately it´s some klicks away on my gaming comp) ?

I play realtime and sometimes, in the heat of the battle, some of my heroic forces get smoked while I am trying set up a new camera position.

    4. Is there any "zoom view" option ? I kinda miss a pair of oldfashioned binoculars to have a quick look at what´s happening e.g. down that road, in that village on my left flank, etc.

    (using camera view --> see 3.) smile.gif

  6. Thx BFC for the QUICK PARADOX VER. PATCH RELEASE, thx for not spoiling a friday evening (wish I could say that for my "Kalypso"-version-ToW).

Looking forward now to get me some icecold bottles of Beck`s (*WARNING: Alcohol is a hard drug*) and do some finetuning on my first scenario.

Wow ! SecuROM seems to have quite a history of causing trouble with games.

    - Test Drive Unlimited

    - Armed Assault

    - S.T.A.L.K.E.R (EU ver.)

    - Neverwinter Nights 2

    - C&C 3: Tiberium Wars (patch 1.04)

    - Tomb Raider Anniversary (demo and retail)

    - Overlord

    - Medieval 2 Total War: Kingdoms

    - Bioshock (demo and game)

    - World in Conflict (demo and retail)

    - Splinter Cell Double Agent

    - Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter

    - MOH Airborne

    - Football Manager 2008

    - Ancient Wars - Sparta

    - The Sims 2 Bon Voyage (U.S. ver.)

    - etc., etc.

So why "SecuROM" and what the heck made this funkin´ copy protection first choice for the paradox guys ?

Greetings - (a lenient but somewhat puzzled) Egon

  8. para-dox / n [C] statement that seems to say sth opposite to common sense or the truth, but which may contain a truth.

    goes well with the following:

"This "All Inclusive" patch includes all the fixes from the earlier patches and can be applied to ANY previous version of the game (v1.01-v1.05)."

Now everything becomes clear ... :D
