  1. I know I'm late comming to the upgrade party - I'm still playing Blitzkrieg. My question: I'm only interested in the European Theater not the Pacific so when I upgrade should I just go with PDE? Unless there is a way to ignore the Pacific in GC it woule be a waste for me right to get it right? Thanks.
  2. Yes I understand what you are saying but shouldn't there be a mechanism for this in the game? Switching two adjacent units seems to me to be a basic war gamming function, no?
  3. Interesting conversation! I have a side question. Is there a way to switch the position of two adjacent units? Example: unit A and unit B are right next to each other, can I move B to A's position and A to B's position in one turn? Chesster
  4. The version I'm playing is Blitzkrieg, haven't decided if I want Weapons and Warfare yet. In the current game I'm playing I did capture Norway but I hate having to garrison it and I'm constantly harassed by partisans. Now in the Mediterranean, try as I might I just can’t take Malta. I’m beginning to think that sending troops to North Africa is just as much a waste as taking Norway.
  5. Wushuki, I didn't consider that. I guess taking Norway is a waste of time and manpower. In the last game I played, I left Norway alone and the British tried to capture it but I was able to get a corps to Oslo in time and held Norway till the end of the game.
  6. Sorry, I wasn't specific, I'm talking about the normal Fall Weiss scenario. I'm not into the global conflict I'm just interested in the European theater. Thanks for the advice.
  7. I have the latest version of SC2 Blitzkrieg and need a little help. How do you go about capturing Norway before France? In the game I played I don’t have the PP’s to fund research, reinforcements to wounded units, build new units and or HQ’s and get everything ready for the attack on France. I guess I'm doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated. One more thing: does anyone find HQ’s too expensive?
  8. The resolution is 1280x1024. As far as duplicating the error I can't. I have tried several times but no dice. Actually it seems pretty stable now. I've been playing for several days and no other problems have occurred. My compliments on the game, I'm having a blast playing it.
  9. First, when I select a unit to activate it then all the movable units stop blinking. I suggest that the movable units keep blinking after a unit is selected since there is no other visible way to know what units can still move. Second, only a few of the windows can be closed by pressing on the Esc key. I would like to be able to exit from any open window by pressing Esc; it cuts down on the amount of mouse clicks. Overall I like this game it has provided me with lots of fun time. However, I do miss being able to combine the attacks of my units into a single combat like other games of this genre.
  10. The error msg was: Purchase_unit_dialog:draw_unit_counter_to_buffer Directsound failed: dserr_invalidparam As the Axis player playing in V1.06 I was trying to buy the VXI Corps and when I clicked on the Infantry Weapon Upgrade I got the above msg and CTD.
  11. I’m not sure what good this will do but I figure I should mention this anyway. I was playing the 1939 scenario as the Axis and I had attacked Paris with a number of units. The last unit to attack eliminated the defender so the city was open but I didn’t have a unit to walk in, errrrrrrrr! Anyway, after that I pressed CTRL-P to open the production screen then I choose Army in the production box or whatever that section is called where you pick what to build and I clicked on a specific Army in the force pool section it was the last one on the list and that is when I got an error message. Unfortunately I didn’t write it down. Then I clicked on something (I think it was something in the error msg box that popped up) and the game CTD. I tried going back into the game from the autosave file and duplicate the error but I couldn’t, every thing worked fine after that. If it happens again, I’ll write down the error msg and be more specific about what I was clicking on before it happened.
  12. I didn’t know. Thanks. Actually, I want to concentrate on straight SC2 for now. Maybe in the future I’ll delve into the A3R mod.
  13. Thanks arado234. I guess that makes sense but it seems to me like the percentage losses are too high. I did P.B.E.M. Third Reich a few times many years ago and it was okay.
  14. I recently downloaded the demo and have been playing and familiarizing myself with the game and I like what I see. I’m an old Third Reich player and I occasionally play the old DOS based Clash of Steel but SC2 is light years ahead of COS. Anyway I have to ask why squares instead of hexes? Maybe I’m just biased because of my Avalon Hill background but I prefer hexes. I still need to get used to how things operate game wise and a few things bug me about the interface but I look forward to enjoying all that is offered both from the game and from the folks here. Question: The manual on page 65 says: “Note that operational movement of a unit results in a 25-40% loss of morale.” Does anyone know why? Chesster
