ToW is the only game where I experience this problem. My drivers are uptodate and I've set up my rig as per Nvida/DualCore suggestions in your forums. Is this a known issue?

    XP SP2

    Nvidia 7900GS 512mb

    AMD X2 4400

    2 gigs

Have you try to upgrade your BIOS?

Have you 1 or 2 RAM memories?

I use to have 2GB of RAM, but I discovered that not only ToW but my whole system did behave much more stable when I took away 1 memory.

I do believe that my motherboard, BIOS and Win-XP did not always getting along with each other when there was 2GB on board.

I am assmebling a special outside team of guys who will be helping us run some focussed multi-player testing. Based on how that testing goes and what issues we find we affect when the patch will be released and what new features it will contain.

I hope to have more info on all of this soon.

Rest assured, we still have lots of stuff planned for this game!

Take your time. It is better to get a patch which works smile.gif

  4. My suggestion to future addons’ is to take a look at the old Steel Panthers game (SP1) on which nation should be added and vehicles.

I think that there has not been a game which has been as complete as the SP game, stretching from the German invasion of Poland to the battles of Berlin. It also has 2 hypothetic after war campaigns. One campaign US vs Russia, and one Germany vs Japan.

The game is free since it is abandon ware.

  5. I do think that ToW is a really grate game but it could be awesome if it could take some ideas from the Close Combat series.

My suggestion is that the troops should speak and communicate much more, like they do in Close Combat. In the CC-games the units shout when they are depressed and are under fire.

It makes you to know when a unit is under fire or depressed, and not just report when they lost a commander.

I think that it makes easier to get a view over the battle field, and you know if a unit needs support.

  6. Is there any chance that ToW could have problem with Java Virtual Machine?

I do believe that my virus/firewall (Panda IS 2008) isn’t convenience with Java VM. The system started to freeze when updating Panda IS after I installed Java VM.

It could also be Panda and ToW which is causing the system freeze.

Is there any one which have experience with ToW and Panda IS?

  7. Hi,

Is there any news when next patch is going to be release?

I’m really interested since I haven’t been able to play the game yet, and I have lost my hope that I ever can play the game on my system.

My problem is that the whole system freezes after about 5 min playing, and I don’t know what is causing it.

    My system:

    CPU: Pentium P4 3,0 GHz

    Ram: 2 GB

    Graphic card: GF-7600

    Soundcard: Integrated AC’97

    Win-XP (SP2)

Done that, and it still crashing. </font>

    What do you mean?

I have sat my BIOS to 256MB. Shall I change it to 128? </font>

ToW demanding lot of “computer power”, and My PSU is too small to supply my CPU, RAM and my Graphic card with that kind of power.

My suggestion to others (which have similar problems) is try to disconnect some drive and try to play ToW.

    My computer:

    P4 3,0GHz

    2GB ram

    GeForce 6600 (256MB)

DVD and DVD/R (did discon. the DVD)

    PSU 330W

Bus I beleave your PSU (power supply Unit) is at fault here you have a 3.0 ghz is this a dual core?

and your GeForce 6600 Is this PCIe

If so you really should be running a PSU of 500watts or more with 12v rails of 32amps. </font>

This would eliminate the animations needed for the soldier to climb onto the tank and shout "Germans between those two trees! No, not those trees you fool!" etc. etc. It would also encourage the player to actively use combined arms.

2.) If infantry are told to assault a tank they become immune to the "compression blast wave" and attack the tank in any way they can, if they don't have a Panzerfaust etc. only a grenade and/or their personal weapon. This could take the form of opening the hatches and 'nading them, or shooting them, or anything they can do really. This wouldn't always be successful, for example if the hatches were locked etc.

Almost every war game does have the discussion about tank vs infantry balance.

I don’t think there is need fore any balance. Almost every thing depends how good you are on tactics.

The best thing to take out a tank with infantry is to ambush it. Don’t hunt or attack a tank with infantry, if you don’t need it. Deploy and use AT-guns wisely.

I don’t want to be rude, but should you on your free will climb up on a tank? That is not what I should, especial if the tank are shooting with both MG and main gun.

How can an infantry man be immune to splinters from HE-rounds?

A tank is defending it self if there are infantry around it. Also other tanks can shoot MG-rounds to take out infantry which is climbing on it.

I have a 3.0ghz cpu, win xp, nvidia 6800 xt w 256 mb of ram, 2gb of system ram, and enough hard disk space.

Its too bad that the game doesnt dump a crash log.

I do believe that I have found what cause my problem, when ToW crash to desktop.

  17. Well, I did try to torn off the EAX on the sound, and did turn of the shadows.

The result was that the whole system did crash, and restart.

The error message I did get was:

    AFS2K.SYS=0&LCID=1053&OS=5.1.2600.2.00010100.2.0

Don’t know if this could be to any help to get any answer why the game is not able run correctly.
