  1. Right now the info icons on the product pages say simply "Manual yes" and "Manual no". We'll add "abbreviated" or something like that to distinguish it from a big size manual I think.

After buying TWO, TOW2 and the Centauro add-on and always finding a good manual, now I feel so stupid for not reading "inside" icons (rolleyes).

I feel like a customer who has no time to read small sentences in a contract.

Do I feel cheated? No. Do I feel stupid? Yes.

Do I feel Battlefront is changing and becoming like others smart developers? Yes.

Will I buy a physical copy again? God, no. Forget it and my money.

  2. I copied the new 'AutoUpdate.exe' file into the the '\Program Files\Battlefront\1C Company\Theatre of War 2 Kursk 1943\AutoUpdater' directory and the 'AutoUpdate.resources.dll' file in the 'ru' directory into the corresponding directory in the 'AutoUpdater' directory.

The update ran when launched and after the update, the shortcut for 'Theatre of War 2 Kursk 1943' to launch the program was pointing to an invalid file. The 'AutoUpdater.exe' file should be changed in that shortcut 'Target' box to 'AutoUpdate.exe'.

However, now the 'AutoUpdater' dialog box comes up twice. I click the 'Play' button on the first dialog box (which disappears, as expected) and then it launches a second 'AutoUpater' dialog box. Clicking 'Play' on this second dialog box finally launches the program.

    LOL !!! Sorry, I couldnt resist :)

BTW, best thing is to create a new shortcut to the Kursk.exe in the main directory.

It launches the right updater and, closing it, you'll launch the game.

  3. After a successfully update to 1.2.4 via the game updater I have these problems:

    - if I run the AutoUpdater.exe again it tries to update again; however, if i run the 1.2.4 patch (in the user folder) or the update via the kursk.exe file everything is fine: they say I have the latest version;

    - the TOW Kursk.exe shortcut in the START/PROGRAMS/BATTLEFRONT/1C Commany/ .... doesnt point to the .exe file but to the AutoUpdater, and in the wrong directory. I.e. it points to the main directory, while the updater is in the AutoUpdater subfolder.

  4. If you want to save the patch for future re-installs (avoiding the download) the patch is located at:

    C:\Program Files\Battlefront\1C Company\users\Patches

Sneaksie, the update windows, after successfully patch installation, remains open, without any button to close it. To exit, you have to click the X in the upper right corner of the window.

  5. Secondly, I had some infantry come up to the hill to hopefully spot the guns for the tanks. No dice. About 10 minutes of two full squads obvserving, only thing that they ever saw was an MG.

This is weird, indeed. Scaring. I hope they'll look into it.

Purchase a commander to spot a/t guns? WTF? Where in the world commanders were sent to look for a/t's ... ? LOL

  6. What I find mostly annoying in the first training mission is the limited torpedoes number (2 instead of 4) and the time limit. Togheter with the incomplete briefing, the low voice level, the too big scrolling text and the too little manual, that is ... :(

  7. Its the stupid briefing not you.

I discovered that when you are ordered to begin the fight you have to jump to one of the cannon positions, sink the two escorting german PT and only then you are allowed to use torpedoes against transport ships.

Hit 4 till you see torpedoes in the lower right part of the screen. Then and only then you can use them.

  8. The GUI lacks a steering wheel position indicator, and steering itself is wrongly modeled.

I mean, when you turn the wheel in a boat, you have to re-center it or she will continue to change her route. Actually, if you press A or D, the helm re-center itself. It is counterintuitive.

We should have a helm position indicator and a realistic steering. Ah, and a nicer ingame GUI for commands, ammo, damages and crew. Actually, it is very ugly.
