Sounds fun - I find most of the campaigns a bit frustratingly hard, so a tool that will help me (ahem) ...cheat against the AI... (ahem) will come in handy.

I'm on a Mac though, but with plenty of access to PCs - do you need to have CM installed on a machine to be able to use the tool...?

No, the only thing you need is the .cam or .btt file. There in now ver. 1.0.3.1 on Dropbox. The tool is not yet useful in every way because the CM files uses compression/encryption algorithms.

  2. There is a new version of CMUU at https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ibiai1l1j5ssvo6/AAANU6X88kL7ANVuJslM0tTCa?dl=0

    These are the major changes:

    Combat Mission Universal Utility Help

You use this tool at your own responsibility. To prevent irreversible lost of data save all game files befor use!

With the help of CMUU you can modify the campaign files, change the scenario sequence, add and delete scenarios (battles) and change some scenario preferences. Further features will be installed later.

The scenario files (.btt) cannto be edited by the tool at the moment because there are some encoded data blocks. Thats why CMUU unpacks all scenario files (.btt) in a subfolder of the campaign folder called 'CM' after start. You can edit theese files using the editor included in the CM executable. After ending this editing process you should return to CMUU and 'Save' the campaign. Edit the campaign properties using the right property window.

You can select a single .btt file outside CMUU and Copy it to the clipboard. Then you can paste it into CMUU. You can open multiple campaign files at the same time and copy/paste it between the campaigns.

It's also possible to create a campaign script from the currently loaded campaign. To do this use the toolbar button 'Make Campaign Script'.

To load scenario .btt files doesn't make sense at the moment for the reasons mentioned above.

    New in Version 1.0.3.0

    • Removed a lot of bugs.

    • Now scenario files can be loaded. Some properties like description, title, images can be edited or replaced.

    • The file tree at the left panel is now working.

    • Campaign images can be replaced and edited. There is a context menu at every image window. The images will be reloaded after saving in the image editor of your choice. Scenarios within a campaign can be deleted, exchanged and added. Drag and drop works within the application window and from the explorer and vice versa. So you may easily extract scenarios from a campaign by dragging it in a explorer window.

    • If you edit a scenario file extracted into 'CMUUTemporary' with CM builtin editor it will be reloaded after saving.

Best regards and send me your wishes

Just one minor correction .. the latest version 1.9 of ScAnCaDe can be downloaded from the link in my signature. ;)

Also, extracted single battles can be re-arranged into a campaign file (after adjustments have been made). This requires some manual work, especially writing the campaign "compile" script with the information provided by the ScAnCaDe XML output. But it is definitely do-able.

Used your sources among other things to make an editor, you can add scenarios to a campaign with copy and paste and remove them. It produces campaign scripts if you want. You can change some campaign settings... . https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9sroq6vhlm3fza6/AADPnV9WTXH9ifqpAw6Slszea?dl=0. I wrote it in C++ by the way. Could add further things if I would know how the decoding of some data blocks works.

    Good morning everybody

Since engine 4 uppgrade. Troopps have been a little bit to easy to panic, with artillery. In scenarios i compensate for that, by gong in to the editor and raise their morale a bit. Then save with a 1 in the end, so i know its the edited scenario.I think it works quite ok.

But to the question. Is there a possibility to do the same for certain missions in the campaigns? It has become to easy to panic the enemy of in some missions, i think.

Can't seem to open a campaign mission with the scenario editor?

Yes I guess but I think the little guys looks so cool in the airborne uniform.

Wow can't believe that they were underrated, I think the whole glider plane idea is crazy, and anyone willingly getting on those "planes" should get a medal :)

    Hello Gents,

iirc I did actually read in the manual or in some readme/faq about this feature, but cannot find it again.

Was this option introduced with CMX2 v.2?

I'm talking about the possibility to create a campaign or a battle in the editor, including some MODs for uniforms and armor paintings.

Am I daydreaming or is that possible? And if so, can someone please list on how to implement it?

If this has been already discussed in depths I wasn't able to find it: any clarification would me most welcomed.

    TIA

Is your tool able to repack the campaign? Do you have a working prototype?

Yes, it is. I is in pre alpha stadium and I send it to you via mail if battlefront agrees. The scenarios cant being edited by my tool because some informations are redundant and contained in an decoded form. So you load the campaign with my tool, let the program opened while you edit the scenarios with the CM Editor. The scenarios all in a folder 'CMUUTemporary'. After finishing the scenario editing you close my tool and it will ask you if you want to save the campaign.

At the moment you can view the other campaign properties but not change. In the next days I will complete editing depending of your wishes. Unfortunately I can only program some minutes in the evening at the moment.

(Maybe I find a way to send via this forum)

  9. 1. The flickering while in fixed vehicle view. I understand, that for performance reasons you cannot update the object locations at every frame. But just for the vehicle I'm fixed at they should at least interpolate the current position to avoid the tremor.

    2. The captured vehicles are not to be seen in the statistic, even if they added to the reserves.

  10. I have the download version of the game and because there is no cd music track, the music is disabled. Why don't they sell the download version as a dvd image so we are able to burn a dvd with music track???
