Sounds great! I don't think you will disappoint us...and there will be flaws with it...no doubt! but...as you said: nothing is perfect!

Here is how my first CMSF PBEM went: It was a meeting engagment med infantry mix for both sides BLue VS Red. I got Platoons of Bradlys, 105mm strykers, 2 platoons infantry. He got just infantry. Our game last 4 turns till a "This sucks" was called, and half his army was in panic. The QB system was a bad call for CMSF, and I am SO glad this is back to create more balanced battles.
Amen to that! Still don't know why they did it that way in CMSF

"Well, this is where my claim falls to the ground... I had hoped you wouldn't make that particular point."
har har har...got you!
*lol* I LOVE monty python!

This forum is running out of steam... Everybody's in suspense, our F5 keys are worn out, and we can't think of anything new to talk about. We have analyzed the AARs to death... We are tired of arguing about whether the Germans were superior in real life, we want to play the demo and then argue about whether the Germans are over-modeled in the game! Oh, the humanity!
Must try to stimulate debate for a bit longer... Ummm... OK: The US bayonet was vastly superior to the German, and if you disagree you're a Nazi fanboy! Discuss.
Ahhh hell no! the german bayonet was faaaaaaaar mooooore superior, because it was forged in the blood of the dragon Fafnir, who was slayed by the german hero Siegfried...it was able to rip through hardened steel like through butter!
Pfff..taking about those american toothpicks called bayonets...you sir, are ridiculous!
-
So, where is the link to the demo ?
ummm there is no link, cause the demo isn't out yet..
Steve wrote it won't be out this weekend...

You want to see bitter I'll show you bitter!!!
Release game now! You have been warned .....
*LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL* I really laughed so hard on this picture, never seen it...huhuhuhuhu....yeah..that is bitter!
-
maybe you are right...I don't know...I just know that I would be really disappointed expecting it gets out on XX.XX.XXXX and then there is nothing...
-
I wish they would give us a date, as they have stated that they already know when they will release if everything goes according to plan. If something were to happen, then they could just explain that there has been an unforseen delay.
Having a date is better than not knowing at all, and if there was a delay and this date would have to be pushed back, that would be no big deal, we all know that those things can happen.
Hmmm I think having a date would rise a big anticipation and you would be really disappointed (well I am speaking for myself, cause I would be )..
not to forget, that some of those lunatics (again: I am one too) would possible try to get a free day off from work or working not so late, cause they are eager to play the game and I already read something like "How dare you BFC? I took a day off for your game and now it isn't here!"..
so all in all I think failing to release on a given date is more worse than telling no date at all..
but to be honest I also want a date...as I said..lunatic here

In German we say: die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt! hope ist dying at last!
Yep..so ist es..die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt!
-
I've read it...you were talking about the support for ToW...but that has nothing to do with waiting for CMBN, does it?
I mean when you think this company (BFC) doesn't support their game, then don't buy it...it is really that simple...
-
umm...well you said you don't want to buy it and you bought another game instead...somebody could think, that you have at least no more interest in it...
-
switched back to the www.battlefront.com > store page and found no informations.
maybe im blind, but i can see the "order now" button and no informations about what time i can or will get the game.
if you feel interested, you also can visit the theatre of war technical support forum , to see that there is no technical support.
"Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy is scheduled for release within the next 14-21 days. Once released, it will be available in a PC and a Mac OS X version, [..]"
there you go...you missed it...it is on the front page..
don't get so upset (you seem to be upset)..I don't like to wait either...I would rather have it now for the weekend ...but if you want the game, fine, wait and you can play it..if not...fine too..just don't buy it and play the other game...
-
not late 30s...I am 32, but I have the impression, that those games (CMBO,CMBB etc. or "serious" wargames at all) are more for the older guys...well I don't know for sure, but as I said I have the impression...
-
... (and a cool metal box to play hide the CD with!)
*lol* classic

You have to sit through it with your wife? oh...poor man!
My gf also asked me, if I want to watch it...ummm I really don't want to see it...I see no point in it! All the good luck for William and Kate, but to be honest...what is so interesting about two people getting married? well for the husband and wife of course it is...but for everyone else? I don't get it...nope I don't
but perhaps it is because I am not british and I am not interested in the royal family at all...
well...each to their own...
-
yep..I think the same...if you need longer and april is out, that's okay...but please tell us so
-
I am not really angry, just a little bit disappointed...just hoped to get it before the easter holidays...balloon popped *sigh*
-
So nothing with end of april? *grrr*
-
Oh no....two weeks? And it is YOUR fault...shame on you...
But your intentions were good...at least you tried
-
Which reminds me of:
Free beer tomorrow.
Free scotch yesterday.
Hmmm beer....getting myself one...ice cold from the fridge...dumdidum....
-
My bet is Thursday the 21st, based on two things:
a) the comment (was it Moon?) from the "download file size?" thread in which he said (last week) that we'll know "next week", which means this week.
Admittedly, saying that we'll know the download size does not mean that it will be available to download, but I doubt he would've dropped that nugget (eww) if it weren't going to be.
Either that, or he is far more cruel than we imagine.
2) I'm leaving town that morning and won't be able to get at it until next Monday, which will drive me moderately insane
What do I win if I'm right?
Don't know if you'll get anything (besides my deepest compassion, cause you won't be able to play it ), but it would be awesome if they game would be released on the 21st! (4-days-off because of easter )
-
Yes...easter would be perfect!
-
*smiles* yeah sorry dude...and my "company" is the federal state of Baden-Württemberg...I could ask if there is a job offer for you

Demo won't start
in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Posted
Same here! Can't play anymore. Played the tutorial mission, exited and now I want to play another mission...but as said: I have the same problem....when I click on play I just get the "buy now" screen and the game won't start
