What the ****!!! Still no Spanish Version?.
Well... this means that a lot of people will bypass this purchase.
It's important to build an Spanish version of this product.
-
The same it's true for me.Originally posted by Robert Goldsmith:I don't plan to buy CMSF. The topic has no interest for me. I'll definitely buy CMC.
I really don't care about fancy graphics. They just take up designer time and computer capacity without adding to the information players need to play the game.

When a game finish... will be any kind of tool to join all the separate video files in a single and continuous video file for long replays?.
It will be a nice feature. It's in CMSF?.

Yes i'm thinking on the WWII game after SF... it was a well known tactic in WWII. The Germans even had some special tools to make the convergence of several MGs to follow a pattern.
The normal procedure was to fire 4 MGs, and was described very well in the best book about MG42: The Myrvang's one.
Will be a pity that we miss the chance to add indirect fire for MG platoons, and also indirect fore for Infantry guns and Assault guns... all those weapons had indirect fire methods on WWII.
-
Reverse slope fire of Heavy and Medium MGs was a practice since World War 1, to support infantry assaults.
It's called indirect MG fire since you doesn't see the area to fire, all it's calculated with some tools and map work.
They spread bullets like rain even at ranges of 3500m... at such ranges you can beat the reverse slope of the hidden enemy positions, and the bullet rain drops at a very high step (angle) so you can hit even the soldiers inside of his fox hole.
Will be possible this feature with the new CM engine?.

#1 Spanish Civil War 36-39 (WWII prologue)
#2 Poland, Norway, and France campaigns 39-40
#3 Balkans and Mediterranean 1941-1942
#4 Pacific 1941-1945
That's a pretty good list to start, of the less common scenarios.

A single DVD with all the old CM games... or at least CMAK & CMBB, plus Combat Mission Campaigns, will be the most appealing product for me, period.
Even more than CM:SF.
Time for a poll...
What do you prefer?:
A cheaper CMC release (only with CMBB).
Or a complete pack on DVD (CMBB+CMC, CMAK).

Modern Asimetric Wars = Bored
WWII = Fun for Ever.

What do you mean?... the version of Battlefront download?, or the version of Combat mission Anthology?.Originally posted by David White:Mine came fully patched and you don't need the CD to run the game
-
Thanks, may be only somebody from Battlefront will know if it's possible to save them in a single working DVD.
-
Another question... about the downloadable version of the main page of Battlefront:
Does it include the last patch?. If i download CMAK and CMBB, can i save both games into a single DVD?. will work that DVD to play the game?
-
Does combat mission anthology have the patch 1.3 included?. I'm speaking about the CDV version of europe.
Combat mission anthology has 4 CDs, any chance to get all this stuff in a DVD release from Battlefront?.
-
So... somebody knows if those weapons (mortars) can be included in a future release?. It cann't be true WWII warfare without 50mm, 60mm, or 82mm tubes. atleast light mortars are important for any WWII game.
Doesn't matter if they can not add mortars until an Add-on / Expansion of the game... but will be good to know if they have plans about this feature at long term.

Unfortunalely for you... you can't be more wrong, take a look to the date of this report:Originally posted by TL:I think this is dead.
I do look forward to being proved wrong.

The thing is under development, and this blog shows a very recent update with pictures.
Sorry for your bad guess.

Yeah!... we will enjoy this game.
That Blog update is fantastic!.

Theatre of War had a long develoment, and it had several names earlier. When it was called "Wartime Command", i was impresed by the screenshots of the german 50mm mortars and the tripod MG42. The russian mortars were also modeled and the pictures show all the animations completed from the undeployed status to firing. The models and the animations looked impresive, ¿where are all those models now?. There is a lot of hours of work to be ignored. ¿Can we dream whith an expansion of Theatre of War that includes those fantastical weapons latter?.
Original Link of the pictures if you can't see them just avobe:

The pictures of this Russian Mortar were published when the game was called "WWII RTS":
Those pics are wonderfull... Theatre of War can get a very sucessfull second expanssion if they include those support weapons on map.

Watch what you say about my first love...the queen of 3D tactical gaming is not to be mocked openly.Originally posted by Michael Dorosh:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Timskorn:
I played the original CM way back when, and loved it. For some reason I've skipped everything in-between, but Shock Force looks like it will definitely get me back into it.
Anyone remember M1 Tank Platoon by Microprose? I know these are two quite different games, but I've been waiting for a modern tank game for awhile, and the latest screenshot of SF conjured up some old memories of M1 (except extremely better looking than the polygon hell of M1).
Nothing beat Muzzle Velocity for pure silly fun, though.

Well those are great news... because it make the gameplay much more fun. Doesn't matter if we must wait 5 years for it, we will support a game that aims to this kind of stuff.Originally posted by Battlefront.com:There are some threads that go into great detail about CoPlay. Or at least what we would ultimately like to do. No, it will not be available for some time. I certainly won't be released into a Module. It's going to take us a huge chunk of dedicated time to make it, so it probably won't even make the intial WWII release. CoPlay alone would probably triple the time to release, and nobody wants that

Lots of human players and cooperative gameplay is the most interesting thing that makes a game playable for many, many years...
I hope that in those cooperative design will be a posibility to add atleast two command levels... the higher comand is more slower to play but very interesting for some players, and the smaller commands are more speedy for the players that love this kind of gameplay.
No war game has still a cooperative design to allow several steps in the chain of command, i hope that Battlefront will get a chance to try the first one.

Since we are going to get Real Time battles of Company level... will be any chance in the future for something like Combat Mission Campaings working in real time for bigger level battles in a very large multiplayer engagement?
Figure an 5 vs 5 player, where there are a 4 vs 4 players leading a company in real time, and a 1 vs 1 battallion comander composed by very old/slower pace players that issue the orders and coordination of their team... may be distributing the weapons support at bigger levels, etc... at real time.
Will be cool to see a real time Combat Mission Campaings expansion for CM:SF
(Ofcourse the WE-GO & PBEM option will be also interesting.)
Was this discussed internally in Battlefront?.
An expansion on "Gameplay style" is some times more intersting than an expansion on "weapon's & scenario content".
-
Well i hope that we can play very unbalanced scenarios... the enemy doesn't know what's the number of your troops, and you can do delays and attrition. A Platoon against a Company isn't that bad if you use the terrain and your brain.

This page doesn't work...Originally posted by Bergerbitz:What? And I preordered it from www.maddorosh.com six weeks ago!
I wants me money back!

I hope that they can finish it!.
This project is the number one for me... even more important than the new Combat Mission engine.
This is the most apealing product of Battlefront just now... they must keep it alive!.
PRE-ORDERING UP!!!!!

I don't know if the listed languages on the web page are by purpose or not. It could be that the Spanish version has not been fully proofed yet, or maybe the campaign and missions texts have not been translated. Or the list might be based on an earlier version. So I'm not sure, but maybe someone will chime in. But in the version that I have, there's six languages. </font>
