General Mayhem

I was playing Allies Yes we both have the patch. Tonight I did not get the same problem. Tonight it was an I/O. We checked the IP addresses and firewalls. It all looked correct. Then we tried it one last time and it worked. Go figure. Thanks for your assistance Hubert!

Thanks for responding Hubert. The answer to the questions are: 1. No, we were attempting to play in 3-D. 2. No, we did not use alt-tab. 3. I was able to play a game in hotseat and against AI, but on several attempts not able to play a new game against TCP/IP opponent.

After applying the patch I received an error message on the direct X. I don't have the exact message, but it concerned the map. This did not occur before applying the patch. The error message occurs when I attempted a tcp/ip game. It does not occur on AI games or hot seat games. The game was also having sound break on the intro. I applied Huberts solution and renamed the files so it doesn't play the intro music. My PC is only a year old. It is a pentium 4 with a 3.06ghz and 448 ram

Another SC2 player and I have come up with the following two proposals on making a defense of Britain an even match. 1. Use the Editor to make French units at full value. It is my understanding the French Army was larger than the Germans at the onset of WWII. The problem was the disaster that was the French High Command. By increasing the French values, it would make the conquest of France later, thus giving the UK some breathing room to prepare. 2. Make a script addition to allow a British General to be activated upon the landing of an Axis unit on English soil. We have debated whether it should be Alexander or Montgomery, but we finally settled on Alexander as a player will have to decide whether they should go ahead and spend the points for Montgomery. BTW, Hubert thanks for such a great game! Absolute Genius!
