  1. Well I would have doubts. 184th Rifle division was employed in the south, west of the 22GRC and 1 TA. This means it couldn't have faced Elephants, as these were only used in Model's attack from the north, AFAIK.

Moreover, 184th Rifle division is not opposite the main effort of 48th Panzer Korps, but west of it, and is part of 40th Army and in second echelon until the 12.

Thus, all of the German armor of 48th Panzer Korps was hitting the 90th and 67th GRD's and later the the 6th TC and 3rd MC of 1st TA. It was not hitting the 184th.

The 184th division doesn't appear to be on the front line until the 12, when in joins 6th Guards Army and moves opposite the 332 ID. From here however it likely only screened against the 332 ID and maybe elements of 3rd Panzer. But it deffinately wasn't subject to a multi-Panzer Division thrust from 48th Panzer Korps.

To me, the source seems unreliable. Perhaps others will have more to say on the subject.

  2. He is saying it doesn't work because the CM model allows you to micromanage things down to squad/team level. A regimental commander would never realistically have the ability to micro all of his platoons and squads on minute time scales to fit a regimental scale battle plan. A regimental commander moves battalions around, not squads. CM is meant to be played (realistically) from the company to battalion level.

  3. If the vehicle has enough room in it, you mount a unit by giving the unit a move order (move, quick, fast etc) to the vehicle. If the curser is green, there is enough room. If it is yellow, as you describe, then there is not enough room in the vehicle for the unit to mount. That is why your units are going near the vehicle, but not in it.

  4. Thanks for all the comments. I think I'll give in to the pressure and get CMAK, especially since some people and get as much value out of it that it only costs 0.0116 cents for an hour of gameplay ;)

Once I pick it up though I expect an intense PBEM game from someone. Till then I'll get my game face ready.

  5. I own CMBO, CMBB and CMSF already, though I play CMBB by far the most of the three, as I find it has the most interesting setting.

However, having almost finished Atkinson's "Day of Battle," I am becoming more interested in the Italian and African theatres. So is CMAK worth it? How does it stack up against CMBB? What advantages does it have?

    Thanks for your input.
