  1. Markus, of course I can read cyrillic, I am Russian:)
  2. I got some good news for all of you, this weekend Russian developers are releasing a beat patch so I will inform of all the changes when I get to it.
  3. No, I am only interested in strategies that allow the use of both, infantry and heavy armor, kind of CMBB:) I will load more screenshots today, but later, yesterday I had a long and painful battle that cost me three more tankers:( So it's 8 guys that I lost since the battle started. On the other hand, Germans are at 43:)
  4. You must be paid by Battlefront and/or 1C for posting these amazing pics and telling us about the shell exiting the tank in the back Admit it!! Uwe </font>
  5. I also want to share a few points, first of all, I am glad that BF is taking this game in further development, coming from a person who owns a copy of Russian version. Yes, the game has a lot of potential, but at the stage it is now, you won't fully enjoy it. There are issues that need to be addressed and fixed before it reaches us here.
  6. That lovely shot cost me one man dead in a Sherman:( Yesterday, when I hit one of the German tanks, I was surprised to see the APR going through the armor and flying out from the other hole in the back, hitting a house and killing one of German sodiers by accident, it was a bit funny but at the same time sad:) The round had no energy after flying through the tank so it did little damage to the house, but total damage to one of the ground troops.
  7. And a small firefight against a small but hardcore German troops:
  8. Hey guys, just wanted to share some shots that show damage, engagements, etc. 1. One of the "big guns" I encountered as I advanced with my Shermans: 2. One more covering the intersection in a small French village: 3. This is how I decided to engage, by adavncing fast and going over the gun with it's crew:( that ended up very negative for both of us: 5. Than I advanced with this guy and got hit hard, loosing the driver and a gunner: 6. After I finished attacking those guns, a strong neavy force from North showed up and engaged my Shermans, here is a what was permamently left sitting on the ground:)
  9. Mikey, you don't need to adjust too much with the timing, just pause and give orders, thats what I do!
  10. I had one engagement when fighting for Polish where I was able to engage at 1000 meters, but whether it brings good results is up to you:)
  11. I can not imaging playing this game without pause button. You just can not keep up with everything going on on the map.
  12. Weapon ranges are not scaled down, shoot as far as your eye can see, except pistols, they got shorter range, but still effective in close combat. As for me, I prefer to wait until armor gets very close, then I open up, just like in Combat Missions.
  13. No , I got the game from Russia, that's where I am from.
  14. I got the game yesterday, and played a bit, had similar concerns that dissipated after an hour into the first mission, I was able to pause and give orders to anyone I wanted, and they obeyed:) Of course I am waiting for the patch that yuo guys suppose to get already in the game, I am sure it will make certain game features a lot easier (line of sight is my concern so far). It's not the kind of strategy game that allows you to make many mistakes and still win a battle, (found out myself yesterday), as a matter of fact, a big fan of Combat Missions. You must think carefully and use appropriate tactics, just make sure you pause as much as you need to... I think for those who enjoy CM, there is no dissapointment, just a bit different and from my own perspective, one of it's kind. If you think that you can throw a grenade any time at a tank, you are wrong. It all depends on many factors that are considered well, like your soldier's status, position in relation to the enemy, and of course who else is around(suppresed or not...) With right tactics you can be very succesful, yesterday I positioned my mg truck in the bushes with some cover and achived great results by cutting down at least the first two waves of german soldires coming at my trenches where I had panicked troops:) Tanks are a different story, you can not blow it up just by throwing a grenade at it, may be a track, if you are lucky and have enough positive status. PTRD rifles can deal with heavy armor only if it's close in range. On the other way, if you have well placed anti-tank guns, they can be very destructive if shooting from right angles... If you have questions, let me know.
  15. Just a few questions before I make my next step in battle #2. Does my HMG has to be in the "unhide" mode in order to notice who is firing at my troops? And also, who would be the best choice to spot enemies? Is it an HQ's due to their ability to use binoculars or they all see the same distance? If it is an HQ, should I keep him in the "unhide" mode too so he could see better or he will automatically notice the enemy?
  16. Thank you guys for your advice. Jason, I did reach the pines in the first battle and after receiving reinforcements, I placed some of them in the pines, and some in the field. The rest were placed in the trenches with some cover behind. I am afraid if enemy opens up on my trenches with big guns, many of my guys will die or panic. But there is no other way around it, you just have to take a risk and continue advancing. I attempted to sneak two HMG's with an officer to the woods on the right side but got pinned. I will continue my attempts because the wood patch on the right is excellent for flanking and distracting the enemy while advancing my main force forward. I did like some of your points on suppressing the enemy while advancing, I will use it in my next turn. Have a great day!
  17. Hello to all! I am new to this game. I am currently playing this mission in CMBB. I got stuck in battle #2. I crossed the bridge and placed my men in trenches. I have 4 HMG's covering them across the bridge sitting on the hill. I also got a 45 mm gun covering them located near the HMG's. I also got 4 platoons hiding in the field on the left with a 45 and 76 mm guns. My main problem is when I try to make a slightest move, most of the troops get pinned by enemy fire. Every third move I get some 50 or 82 mm mortars showering my trenches. I tried involving my HMG's to cover them but very little was achieved. I can not move forward for the life of me. From time to time I get a sound contact and see the enemy, but when I start firing in that direction they dissapear and pop up somewhere else. I tried emloying my 50 mm mortar and even heard some enemy screaming after a few bursts but again with no potential results for my advancing troops. I don't know what to do. What would you, veterans, recommend to my advancing troops?
  18. Thank you for the info Jason! Now, you said that I should group my tanks if I wanted to discover an AT gun, and even if the gun attemts to fire at one of my tanks, the rest of them will fire back and presumably destroy it, (worst case loosing one of my tanks). In the quick battle that I fought, I discovered three AT guns lined up against my armor. Now what should my tactics be against three AT's? I know you mentioned the mortars but unfortunately I did not have any. Neither a single PTRD gun. Just a buch of infantry and tanks. I almost can be certain that if I moved my tanks to discover the guns most of them would be destroyed. I have an idea to share fo this particular situation with three guns and if you think it's wrong please let me know. Knowing that Germans are advancing, I can hide my tanks out of sight for the AT guns with my infantry and wait until they come within range to fire, (reppel the attack). I could continue appying this tactics until they either give up trying or loose enough men to surrender. In this situation none of my tanks would be visible to AT guns unless they decide to move them, and if they do, I will have infantry ready to fire form the flanks. Of course this should be done before the main attack begins. Tell me guys what you think of this tactics? Thank you
  19. Hello to all! I have been following this forum for about 4-5 months and a few days ago I decided to join the community. I received a copy of CMBB a few days ago and so far I like the close attention to so many details in this game. So many "values" are considered for infantry, heavy armor, etc. Almost breathtaking for me. I received the bonus edition with 1.03 version already in the game so I didn't have to mess around downloading the patches. However I didn't download the mods as I am not sure wich ones I need. If you have any advice I will gladly listen to it. I tried one battle in quick missions and lost terribly. I had tanks, infantry and still got wiped out. It was one of the 1941 battles near Kharkov. German soldiers had only three AT guns including infantry against 8 or 9 tanks on my side and I still lost. I tried to hide the tanks behind the buildings, do the "scoot and shoot" command but I believe the timing was wrong. They were always a few steps ahead of me. Just as I would spot an AT gun it would be already aiming at my tanks. Also German infantry attacks were well organized even though I was fighting against AI. I tried flanking but again they were a step ahead of me. Now that I shared some of my experience I have a few questions to ask. 1. Can I supress an AT gun with HMG or a rifle platton? 2. What is the safest way to discover AT guns? As an exapmle, I tried to use infantry but AT guns didn't open up until I ordered one of my T-34 to target someone. 3. If I only have molotov cocktail against heavy armor what is the right order to attack tanks with it? Is it a "cover ark" or "target"? Overall I like this game because it makes you think first before making your move as it could always be your last one. Just like in chess and I love chess Thank you for your answers and I will look forward to join online tournaments even though it is too early for me at this point.
