Just wanted to point out that the textures used for the Panzer I by Battlefront aren't those of such aforementioned tank, but those are taken from the Panzer II. Features like armor and armament fit, but the image doesn't

I was not sure cause my knowledge on the subject is very limited, but I have figured out that the CMBB images for the PzI could be wrong because they do not fit to the images and photos that I have of Spanish Pz I, as can be clearly appreciated in the Web page for that vehicle.

Actually, I have changed some of Battlefront textures to try to give a more appropriate aspect, and I have modified the position of Spanish flags and tactical symbols to fit better into Battlefront model (there are some notes in the information page about that)

Thank for your comments, they are quite valuable. Now I clearly understand why Battlefront's model and SCW stuff does not match.

If yes, and anyone out there would like

to PBEM this largish Op (either side is OK)

drop me an email - I'm good for 1-2 turns/day,

    more on occasion...

I was just reading some rather thrilling

Oh, and can I rename one of my British squads "Orwell" ????

As I mentioned, current scenarios are not adapted to be used with the new Mod. I expect to adapt those scenarios soon, but there are still some important units to be modded that I prefer to finnish before developing/adapting scenarios
  3. I'm pleased to announce there is an ongoing modification of CMBB to play the Spanish Civil War.

You can know more at http://cmscw.50webs.com/

There are 4 uniforms ready to download (moroccan regulars, foreign legion, falangists and nationalist regular army), but most uniforms and tanks are already completed and will be available very soon.

The SCW scenarios currently available are not compatible, they should be adapted.

I wish the people interested in the Spanish Civil War enjoy this modification. By the way, new scenarios based on this mod are highly welcome !

I've checked, the right number of turns is 11, and night falls every 4th turn (not every 5th as stated in the briefing), so the briefing is wrong, the scenario is right
  5. Hi all

I understand that tactical maps must be pre-made, but, does it means the designer cannot create/modify the tactical maps once the campaign has begun?

When considering big operational maps, say for example 30x20Km, there are some areas where the probability of a battle are very low, so a designer would prefer to create just the maps needed to solve a battle, and not creating all the maps in advance.

Is there some possibility of doing that?

None for the Soviets? Someone could renumber them for the Soviets I presume.

    Thanks for the info.

    Select by country, all, other.

The files in ths mod are numbered from 00030000 to 00030099. To use the voices with the soviets I think you must rename them 00070000 to 00070099

  8. Yes, there is a wonderful though quite terrifying conversion of german voices into spanish. It hasn't been developed having SCW in mind, but it is a great option for that purpose. The mod can be downloaded from CMMODS: there are 6 files named

    German to spanish voices-1

    ...

    German to spanish voices-6

    smile.gif hi mazeo, hi all,

Sure, I'm planning to develop a campaign based on the Ebro Battle, and using CMC. I was developing a tool, but now that I CMC is in the way I have abandoned this project, since CMC seems to offer many many features that will allow a single GM getting rid of a relatively complex campaign.

My webpages concerning the Ebro Battle are here: http://academycm.goldeye.info/ [spanish]. If there are people here interested in such a campaign I would be pleased to open it to the community, translate documents, etc.

  11. I'd like to congratulate Tankersley for such a wonderful tool. I'm a enthusiast of Digital Terrain Elevation Models (DTM), when I discovered MM allow to import a greyscale bitmap codifiying the elevation of the terrain, I decided to obtain such bitmap images automatically, and yes, there are places where to find DTMs. But, in my experience, free DTMs tend to be low-resolution, I mean, elevation points are separated 100 or 200m, which is not enough for a detailed CM map. Then, I decided to buy a DTM with 30m resolution (yes, almost the 20m tile size in CM). In plain areas this is not noticeable, but in rugged terrains there is an enormous difference. Below you can see the difference between a 90m DTM and a 30m DTM

  12. Hi,

I'm having a serious problem with MM,

I can't load previously saved games, which is very annoying since after a lot of work I can loss it all just because the export-to-CM process

I thought I can have a relation with the fact I was using NVida cards in my two computers, but now I'm using an ATI and I'm justt getting the same problem

    Any idea?

  13. My "methodology" is designed to develop realistic maps in a very short time, since my first purpose was to develo maps for a multiplayer campaign (http://academycm.goldeye.info/campaigns/index.html), that is currently running. Nevertheless, I agree that single scenarios deserve more work to give it a better feel, and the payoff is worth trying.

  14. jaja, yes, my maps tend to show bizarre roads,

but using a realistic map is difficult to avoid such roads with unlikely angles,

In scenarios with a plain relief this is not problem, but in mountains, in CM it's impossible to represent roads in slopes, you know... and what about houses! some of my villages tend to show big holes in sloped areas, and this is just annoying, but... its the prey of using an accurate representation of the relief... while it doesn't affect the playability of the game I prefer that bizarre roads placed accuratedly that smooth roads with no plausability (in historical scenarios, obviously) smile.gif

  15. Hi,

I've released a tutorial on using Digital Terrain Elevation (DTM) models to automate the generation of the vertical relief, using Mapping Mission and the Global Mapper tools.

I'm sorry that the tutorial is entirely in spanish. Nevertheless, you can get a look at the images to get an idea of the things you can do with a program like Mapping Mission, a general mapping tool and an image editor

    http://academycm.goldeye.info/maps-tutorial/index.htm

some screenshots of the first scenarios developed with this method:

    http://academycm.goldeye.info/maps-tutorial/screenshots.htm http://academycm.goldeye.info/maps-tutorial/screenshots3.htm

I'm very bussy now developing a tool for handling CM multiplayer campaigns, but I would probably translate the tutorial to english in a near future, specially if there are people interested in it, I don't know whether there are other tutorials en english covering the same topics.

By the way, the multiplayer tool will be all in english! :D

  16. Hi,

I'm working in a multiplayer campaign on the Ebro Battle, Spanish Civil War

The rule system will be a simplification of CMMC, using Cocat for the operational level.

Unfortunately, all the information is written in Spanish, but still, if someone without Spanish knowledge wishes to give a try, I think there is some opportunity to participate as a Batallion commander, since:

battalion commander only has to play CMAK combats (2 weeks, so TCPIP is required), and then write a little AAR to his direct superior in the chain of command. Some Spanish players can read English so I hope they wont have any problem to understand a short AAR concerning his favourite game ;)

If you can understand some Spanish, you'll find some info in http://academycm.goldeye.info/campaigns/index.html

If you are interested in playing as a Battalion comander, please email me, you're welcome

    :D
