  1. I also like the idea of runners for the coy level to emphasis the importance command and control. Cool idea.

Same problem if you had some tank support I would think. Most tanks might have radio with comms with each other but did they have comms with a coy command?

For the larger forces have anyone ever used other players (humans) to command different elements on the same side. That is Player A commands one battlegroup while Player B another. Agree on the make up of each battlegroup , a mission objective then carries them out independently of each other. Or something along those lines. I’m sure it’s been done before just haven’t heard about. Although it would require at least 3-4 players in PBEM I guess.

Could be interesting to see how your comrade tackles their objective.

  2. I have just completed a Pure Armour ME in Italy and my opponent made an observation.

I played as Axis against US Forces.

He observed that every time his M4A3s went to engagement my armour his crew opened up with a burst of MG fire prior to using their main armament.

This gave him the impression that this action gave a big signal to my crew as to their position. This allowed my crews to quickly identify the threat and get of the first shot with the main armament.

I tend to agree with his observation. I would have thought that a tank which identified an armour threat would cause the whole crew to focus on destroying such a treat with its main gun and not a MG.

    Are we missing something here?

  3. Situation:

    Axis defending(Reg)me, against Russian(Reg).

Night, rain and visibility down to 50 metres.

First contact, 1 of my sentry squads come up against almost a coy size force.

This skirmish result in the destruction of my squad but interestingly almost routing/breaking an entire Russian Rifle Coy.

My opponent was most distressed when further contact in another part of the front had the same result. Two Russian Coy routed or broken without any significant casualties.

    So my question is:

Is moral a huge factor in night battles so as to cause such massive breaking of troops? Or is there another explanation.

  4. I don't agree entirely.

I had an experience playing as Axis where my aircraft(I can only remember it by a vet but not type) caused major drama for my Allied opponent.

My Russian friend had at least 3 jeeps with anit-tanks guns limbered. After the fist 6 moves all three had been KOed and that was that. He had no AA support

My air asset made no impact on his armour, ignored them all together and went for the "soft targets" only.

I don't know how the Tac-AI works but it worked for me.

I feel at least one aircraft is worth its value.

Having said that I would not be happy with anything less than a veteran as I have experience of blue on blue with lesser skilled pilots

Time them (using a 1st turn fire mission and hitting "Q" to delay) so your own men are still outside the zone they can land in - which usually means early, like minute 5 or so. Defenders can also use them for spoiling barrages just beyond the attacker's set up zone, on turns 3 to 5 or so.

Can you expand on the funtion of "Q" delay please.

Can it be used on all indirect weapons?
