  1. I don't remember how I heard about the original CMBO... Just that I was big into Talonsoft and SSI's titles so I must have seen it referenced somewhere, maybe wargamer.com? I do remember being proud to see an advertisement for it in a WW2 magazine back in the day. Maybe I can venture to ask formally what is being planned in terms of advertisement for CMBN? Surely not a television spot! :P

  2. The suspense created by immanency is half the fun I think :) Such is a secret to happiness in life: Always have something to look forward to! And when it's released... the amount of nerdy giddiness and fist pumping jumping for joy that will inevitably result while it is downloading and installing will give way to sombre teeth gritting and armchair clenching as the patient and/or daring virtual battlefield gambles succeed or fail as the sun rises and sets and life goes on... and we find ourselves after some time looking forward impatiently for the first module to be released... and then the next one and the next and so on on into the sunset... as the tide ebbs and flows and the constellations shift across the sky...

  3. I was 15 while eagerly awaiting the release of CMBO. I'm 26 now. It all started when I was in Toys R Us of all places long ago as a kid and seeing a copy of Panzer General in the bargain bin. From then on, it was SSI and Talonsoft all the way and when I discovered Battlefront I was so excited. And now here I am 11 years later just as excited for the release of CMBN as I was for CMBO!!

  4. You know, I've been witness to a few peng threads before from back in the day. But I still don't know how it all got started. Where did peng come from? Who was the first person to start a peng thread? Has a peng thread ever hurt anybodies feelings? Maybe someone can save themselves from public shame and PM me if they have answers to any of these, life's, most meaningful questions... or not. I guess I'd be perfectly content with you all just sodding off instead. Dozy bastards...

  5. panther vid is sweet, tis me favourite axis vehicle..

did anyone notice how the panthers were "stuttering" in the video of CBMN? near when they were both moving up on the small road?

    is this a bug?

No, that wasn't a bug that was Tyrespawn setting their move waypoints awkwardly so they were both trying to carry out his orders but it was jerky because of the cramped space.

  6. I wouldn't consider my computer to be too good.

I have an AMD Phenom 955, 4 gigs of ram, windows 7, and a nvidia geforce gtx 260.

One thing that allows me to really get smooth FRAPS FPS is to use multiple hard-drives, no one hard-drive is writing the same data. I have a windows SSD, the game on another drive and fraps writing to another drive.

Ohh OK, that could make a big difference I guess. I'm excited as it seems to run great for you and I have a better rig than that! Though I am not using multiple hard drives. You know I also wondered how big those videos must be raw recorded using FRAPS, they must be huge! It makes sense to me now that you would record them to a dedicated hard drive ;)

Thank you for the response, and thank you for the great game battlefront!

  7. Looking forward to get back to WW2. Bought SF + Marines + NATO, hoping it would hook me. It never completely did. Although I think its a very good game. Anyways, at least I supported my favourite game developer!

That is exactly my feelings. Never quite got hooked on CMSF and its modules in the same way I did the original series. But I sure was proud to support battlefront! CMx1 were so good that BF is to me etched in diamond. I hope they keep up the good work for many years to come!
