  1. Thanks! It was a lot of fun to make! I was also impressed how well I did. The couple of times I've played it before I've lost at least 2-3 Sherms. It was incredibly fortunate that Oakley plugged the first Tiger on contact. Things would have been messy otherwise. The StuG I wasn't concerned about, and when the Tiger got surrounded I pretty much knew it was in the bag. :D

I'll start looking for another wee scenario to do volume 2 after xmas! Preferably one I haven't played before.

  2. Wow! Right...errrmmm...that's quite exhaustive! I might revisit the pages to fix some of that (prob. not all) but I think I'll bash on with the rest first. Thanks for taking the time to read the LAR, though, John! smile.gif

PS As for the recon photos, I just wanted a way to convey the positions at certain points. Keep y'all updated. Never mind night photos...taking pictures over the battle, getting them developed and to Div. HQ in seconds is hardly realistic! But then...it is a comic...! :D

  3. I'm at the next orders phase and will probably have the next minute 'in the can' tonight. The most time taken is finding the right camera angles and deciding how many/what shots are needed to tell the story over the minute. That last minute took a while because I wanted the appearance of the Tiger to have an impact and the first exchange to be as exciting and frenetic feeling as possible, hence a few more frames than previous turns.

  4. And there's CMMC for a more detailed approach to a meta-campaign. On a larger scale and with some roleplaying elements there's the Onion Wars and at divisional scale there's my own little fictional operation that I'm working on called the Battle of Syroj Novichok here.

For single player campaign fun, ROQC is an excellent spreadsheet based system.

  5. I've been working on this very idea myself for a small while. The system is entirely web-based. The site is still under construction, and the rules have not been ironed out or tested yet, but anyone is welcome to take a look and let me know what they think. Unfortunately the bookkeeping pages won't be readily available as they're protected for the players only.

This game is divisional level and so will only have 4 players per side, but if it works and the players enjoy it I'll certainly consider expanding the size.

    You can find it here.

  6. I'll tell you what I *will* be playing...Rome: Total War! Just read a preview of this game and it looks like it has a lot of the bells and whistles we want from the next CM engine. I played Shogun a lot, but the feature I'm most excited about in Rome is the 3D strategic map, which apparently just zooms in when a battle is imminent  If the developers make this work well, then goodbye whatever social life I had left after I found CMBB!!!
