  1. Wanted to create some scenarios in Stalingrad inspired by the sotries of Zaitsev. Anyone know of any sniper mod or any suggestions on how to create snipers in the game?
  2. For all the study everyone has made of the European theater it's disturbing that nobody has much knowledge at all of the Asian & Pacific wars where plenty of Asian, European and American troops fought. From the Japanese in China through the 30s to the invastion of the Asian sub-continent in the 1940s, (eg the Malaysia campaign, Burma, Singapore) to the campaign through the Solomons, threatened invasion of Australia, and the island hopping campaign to push the Japanese back to their home island, there was plenty of action diversity of nations and force types doing the fighting. Certainly not all dominated by air or naval fighting - that is a big myth that has to disappear. Take the battle for Okinawa where the fiercest land battles of any WW2 campaign took place or the fighting for Mt Surubachi on Iwo Jima? More than enough material there. WW2 in the Pacific was not all 'Windtalkers' ... far from it. So yeah, I agree with the original post. It would be great if the next version of CM could look to the forgotten theater of WW2 and continue to expand our options as players. Maybe they could include a sniper too? Would make sense.
  3. Thanks for your advice. Seems like that's probably what I'll have to do but I've e-mailed the sales team also to see what they suggest. It's just such a pain when the game is only made available through such a narrow distribution chain.
  4. Sorry to be a pain, but I live in Japan and Battlefront's online store sends me to some local distributor where the game is sold with Japanese documentation and only sold retail. I want the English documentation and to order the strategy guide, and don't have time to go searching for stores that sell the game. Can't I just buy direct, online or do I have to get it shipped to a relative somewhere else just to reship it to me...which I will not appreciate?
  5. Many thanks for your patience. I am very happy to tell you that I got it working. I changed down to 72Hz and it started up fine. Then, went back to 85 Hz and prayed it would start, and it did. So, got to keep my original settings and have the game work. Will be putting my order for the game!
  6. Thanks, I have just tried your suggestions but unfortunately they don't seem to solve the problem. As I switch down from 85 Hz through to 60Hz, in both 32-bit and 16-bit color, the problem only seems to get worse. Where I originally saw three screens, side-by-side getting 'shredded' I now have eight. It's getting harder to see each one. I did leave the program alone but then the screen just went black. I'm back to 85Hz resolution again at 1024 x 768 in 32-bit color after my experiments. Sorry, just doesn't seem to work. Any other ideas? Thanks Aston
  7. When I start up the CMBB demo, I can see the game is trying to display the start-up screen but the resolution and display is all messed-up. I've tried all the recommendations on the support site and they don't work. Running WinXP and GeForce 4200Ti card. Can't remove the WinXP hotfix so if someone can tell me how that's done, maybe it will work. If I can't get this demo working, I'm not forking out for the game and I'd love to be able to get into CM.....Anyone, help? Thanks Aston
