man i was telling you i was a release special version of combat mission operation overlord at Best Buy today!! I sat there and looked at it for a while. A month age i posted a thread asking about if after i read in a pc gamer mag. Everyone thought i misunderstood it. The box i saw was clearly for a re-release for CBMO. it showed british troops in a screen shot on the back, i am 100% positive it was a re-release of operation overlord. It sain "updaten graphics resolution, more missions and ect. no else seen this yet?

Has anyone bought the CMOO re-release retail version. is it worth it?

The American Airpower would have decimated the red army. Sure the red army had some good airplanes but none were designed for high altitude interceptors since germany really did not pose a threat from the air in the east. Most of germany's air power was directed to the west to stave off the US bomber fleets.

American air power would have beat them to a pulp. Remember Panzer Lehr Herrman's division, erased in normandy? That would have been the fate of the Soviet tank armies.

I guess but woud'nt that depend on your computer? The new 64 bit 3.0 gig processors would have no problem, right? If that is the case the why not haver an option to alter the # of represented soldiers like you can alter the detail level.

I know that game programming is hard but if close combat could represent each soldier than why cant CMAK, even after two previous versions? it would be cool to see each soldier shoot or fall in combat, would'nt it?

thats strange because if im right, that is according to what i have read, Axis flamethrowers had a longer range but narrower cone while allied had a shorter range but wider cone for a more demoralizing psychological effect.

Ive been playing combat mission since it was released. before that it was close combat, before that it was panzer general and the V for Victory series. Lets just say that The Eastern Front on the ATARI 800XL (circa 1983) is also in my library ( by far the single hardest war stratagy game, EVER, it was impossible for the axis to win!!! Anyway, i know i will probably hear it from the forum but i checked out all the pics for this game. Without knowing exactly what type of game this is....I only wish combat mission had these kinds of graphics, much mor realistic, sort of.. and i cant wait to see what this is all about.

Come on, other people can make a good war game too, especially codemasters. Battlefront gets credit for being the first. Hatts off to Battlefront. Let's just hope its not another GI combat.

Why is it that i cant pick different force types, mechanized, alpine, ect for the germans unless i select a certian weather condition, for example i cannot get mechanized in warm weather??????

I read in a gaming mag that they are re-releasing Operation Overlord in retail form with updated graphics and resolution, anyone know when this will happen? :confused:

the key is not to engage at long ranges and use advance,assult commands with infantry support. Try this, i know easier said than done but i never run out of ammo.

in fact was'nt there a problem with the CMBB release and its manual in germany?

i thought of preferring the hummel over the nashorn because such vehicles are designed to engage tanks at long ranges. The 88mm L70 does have a higher kill value at closer ranges than the 150mm L30 but the hummel can last longer with its thin armor atlon ranges than short ranges. The nashorn and hummel have similar armor so isnt the hummel a better choice?

actually he was a crack unit and the penetration values for a 150mm l30 at long ranges are greater than those of the 88mm l70, if i read it right that is, i could be wrong

I was thinking...I was playing a game and was up against some t-34/85's and JSII's at long ranges. I had some king tigers and a few hummels. The range was about 1500m and my two AFV were side by side. The tiger's rounds bounces off the JSII while my hummel rounds obliterated it, one shot instant kill. The JSII was shooting at my tigers and left the three hummels alone. 150mm L30 are more powerfull than a 88mm l70? Screw the Nashorns.
