For all it's worth, I'm updating my drivers. If that solves this minor problem and let's me enjoy the game, I'd be a stupid bastard not to try .
-
Haha, I just did some area fire pretty close to my T-62M and was so stunned at the AWESOME effects that I totally missed that my unbuttoned tank commander got wounded by shrapnel
-
lol I held down shift to be able to drag a selection box around my heavy mechanized syrian army. BUT they all went invisible except 3 tanks. Now that's some serious bugger
EDIT: Oh wait! That was because they had no contact with the others! They where just showing markers! Damn that's awesome!

These are the 4 QB types. But for some reason I don't get to buy my forces. Once again I point at the 1.0 as the problem, because I've read you should be able to. Oh well, I'll continue to try and dig up some interesting stuffs while waiting for the big one to come down .
-
Oh just noticed something, in QB's you can chose the obvious RED / BLUE but also the side unconventional.
-
Honestly, it's very strange. Like for some seconds, it's silkysmooth, then it jaggs down and is barely moving at all then BAM! silky smooth then jagged. Sometimes it feels like it's rolling easy sideways and when you try to take the camera forward it's like walking in quicksand. So obviously, it's not running good, but to me, that seems to be a game bug / driver. As I said before, it won't matter untill I / we hav the 1.01. Because 1.0 is 5 weeks old.

I think so too, *wink wink*.

Yeah, I really want the patch. Now I know why those reviewers dissed the 1.0 so bad. Hopefully 1.01 is the saving grace. Seriously, the shadows are really jagged, the movement of the camera is so damn sluggish it makes it very hard to move around. But don't take this as OMG IT'S BROKEN because if you've kept tracks of things you'd know 1.01 does alot. Hopefully it will, I'll just have to wait for the green light untill I can get the fix .

Ah nuts, just realised I'm running on the 1.0 version. So I guess that won't do. I'll have to wait for the 1.01 to get the full of the game. Still have the manual though
-
Went to the local EB store and got my copy. Now, for all of ye who hasn't got it yet and can barely wait. We can, if you want, do a sneak preview-ish thing. You can ask anything and I'll try my best to answer. Anyway, I can list the handheld weapons in the Paradox manual just to show I'm serious .

I prefer WeGo. As mord stated, rewind is king.
I love wathing just watching how different units behave and so on. But RT is well worth a try.
-
Thank you JonS for going deep on this feature. You made it all crystal power up clear to me and I can see this as one of the great little details that will make combat seem more real and intriguing.
I want to ask about so much more, but frankly, there is no point in doing so.
So once again, I thank you for taking your time to share this knowledge for us to feed on untill the tomorrow.
Good night.

In Soviet Russia, hardcore porn downloads YOU!

I doubt there is alot of people who don't have internet who know about Combat Mission.
-
Oh thank you YankeeDog. I totally forgot about the score calculation at the end.

The DesertFox
Now, keep in mind that if you download the game from BFC you'll get the 1.01 version. Only Paradox (which I will be buying tomorrow) will have that version.
I've heard the patch will be out tomorrow too.
Yes, there is a problem with the initial version beeing bugged. But hopefully BFC will be able to urge the consumers to get the game patched in one way or the other.

I'm terrible sorry for making a question about something that would, if present, perhaps be a tad bit gamey. It was just an honest question and I've taken no offence at your redicule. Still pondering over the thing. Is it just there for the simulations or will there be any game benifits from achieving this aid?

MikeyD
So if a wounded soldier is granted buddy aid. Will he be able to fight?
-
I want the current CMx2 to be dumped in favor of the Soldier of Fortune engine. This might not be the right time to express my concern. But I wish you goodspeed with complying with it, as it is my terms for your survival.
Have a good day

Excuse me Achim, you might've missed the part where Steve explained how they did things. It seems to me they lay down ALL of the game first and tries to implement all they can in the beginning. Then, closer to release they do the great bug hunt. Now, it also seems to be that the wrong version got out to the reviewers. From my knowledge, that 1.01 was crucial. The guy who gave it 8/8 played that version and the guys called the game broken didn't. That speaks volume to me.
But who is to blame? Well, this seems to me to be a problem of communication between Battlefront and Paradox. It's sad that this kind of thing would happen, but there is no preventing it now. All we can do is hope that reviewers are informed of this incident and that they get the hand on the 1.01 before setting their opinion in stone.

2 soldiers will be hit by RPG fire.
That might be relevant to your question.
Take heed that the video is from an old build. So those animations may or may not be final.
I've got it for real *spoiler warning*

Do so Malmvig. Even thought it IS fun to get your hands on the 1.0 version. It's not worth the effort if you already have it preordered.
