  1. You could just create a dual-boot system. Regards, Len </font>
  2. ARGH!!! I too have experienced issues with the 43.45 drivers, most notably is the Sloooooooownesss they incur. Nvidia has usually been great about drivers until now for me. The cute thing is that most newer games/demos won't even run half right without the newer drivers. Honestly i guess its time to scrape up scraps for a second box.
  3. Or for a little less reprehensible on the morale scale u could just get a cd emulation app like virtual drive. Then all u need is the hdd space for the image of the cdroms. But this is too late to try for ur CMBB as is has gone to the coaster gods. I used to use nortons virtual drive but now i'm using the one that comes with clone cd. All my cds now stay safely in thier cases.. good luck tho. I might be in the replacemenmt market my self but well have to see if it's just software or a mfg defect.
  4. Win RaR has a few extentions in to aid in my achive mgmt. other than that maybe a virtual drive extension that i use to load my cds as images on the hdd and function like drives. This allows me to play my many games without finding and switching discs, all i do is click and its loaded. Anyway i'm at the point of wiping my win98 partion clean and starting anew, its that time ya know. I'll try it on the fresh install and let you know. Is there any issues with newer nvidia drivers and win9x systems??? I guess i'll just ghost the install up to the vid drivers and try both and see.
  5. Can U set ur watch to the time by the timing of this failure. Is this the only app that loses sound?
  6. Yes tis very strange that the run cmd was able to browse the drive adn execute the installation prog. might it be something in the file listing and orginzation tables on the cd??? Maybe the run cmd just has a quiuk peek at the contents and doesent get to see the problem. Where as WE looks more deeply at the cd's FAT/structure and is getting hung up on some inconsistency. In any case looks like i'm halfway to a coaster, But I'm happy that it still reads the cd and lets me play the game.
  7. Okay when i try to open up the cds contents in windows explorer using win 2000 pro it locks up the app and will only allow it to die once i eject the cdrom from the tray.. Ive also encountered similar beahvior on a win98 machine but to a less dramatic but also disruptful effect.. It's a brand new v1.02 cd and i was able to successfully install using the Run menu. It play great and i'm very much enjoying the game and looking to find my first opponent. But i have 2 optical drives and this happens with both. Now I believe that I mightve gotten a bum cd because ive seen this before with a cdrw that contained errors and bad files.. Has anyone else out there encounterd something like this and is it really a bum cd? If so I should be able to get a replacement huh??? _-/ Just My 2 Cents \-_
