As it seems that you'll be using the card for other things apart from CMBB, then the Radeon will probably serve you well. Two points to note regarding Radeons and CMBB: no fog, and you may have to turn AA off to prevent the white text in a white text box problem.

For me (generic Radeon 9500 Pro), using the earlier Catalyst drivers (2,3) does fix the problem (can't remember if I had AA on or off though), as does using the latest Catalyst drivers (3.7) with the AA turned off. I prefer the latest drivers and turn AA off for CMBB.

If you've got anti-aliasing set, try turning it off.
