  1. Thanks everyone for all of the answers (and screenshots)!
  2. So as a follow up question: In the old CMx1, if a squad were out of command of its platoon leader, it could be picked up by a higher echelon commander and still be considered in command. does that still exist? Thanks!!
  3. Makes sense. Thanks for the quick response!
  4. Hi all! I have just started playing RT (a huge fan of the original CMBB and AK series) and have a quick question regarding command. Ive read the PDF and it has helped but I cant find the answer to this one. I have an infantry unit that has 3 "commanders" listed on his unit card. 1) 2nd Platoon 2) Tankodesentniki Co 3) 1st Regiment I understand the 2nd platoon is his direct commander and when I am in range, I see the red line showing in command and I even see the mouth icon indicating that he is within "shouting" communication range. When I move him away, eventually the 2nd platoon gets the red "x" indicating I am too far away (and the mouth icon goes away as well...what I would expect). I have attached a pic if that helps. however the other two "commanders" still have the green dot next to them but no icon to the right showing what kind of command communication I have with them. Am I still really within command range of these other two folks and if so, what kind? Thanks!! Curtis
  5. 5 items I would like to see changed from CM1 to CM2 1. Convoy Rules/Follow Vehicle/Stick to Roads movement function. 2. Copy and Paste (import/export) feature for Map Building. 3. One big play back file at end of any game (PBEM, Hotseat, 1 Player, etc.). I would still like the ability to stop/rewind/fast forward while watching this file. 4. Map based Campaign system. I would like to have some kind of strategic input and decision making that would influence the tactical (CM) battles. 5. When deploying, have a small window that lists all your troops. This way, we simply pick and choose from this list and deploy our troops as opposed to trying to find them where the computer has placed them on the map. 5 items I would like to stay the same 1. PBEM 2. WeGo System Thank you!!!
  6. Hi all! I have CMBB v 1.03 and was recently trying load some old files. Apperantly they are from an older version and wont load. Is there any way to upgrade files so they can be run in 1.03? Thanks! PB
  7. Thanks all for the responses. I went out and got the Geforce4, installed it and the fog looks great! Curtis
  8. Hi all! I saw a posting earlier about someone having problems with not being able to see fog in the game (I have the same problem). I copied the response down and plan on going to Best Buy tomorrow to by a new video card. Now I want to make sure I get the right one. From reading the earlier post, it seems I should get a Geforce4 video card...is this correct? There was mention of a NVIDIA and MX420 as well. Are these better cards? I have a brand new computer (P4, 2.5gig hard drive) I just want to make sure I get the right one. Thanks in advance! Curtis
  9. Yep, my very first wargame...as a matter of fact, Im sitting here looking at the boxset on my shelf. We've come a long way from those cardboard counters...huh?
  10. "Well, in order to make the wheels spin it would probably involve cracking the game's hardcoding, completely rebuilding 300 vehicle polygons, completely rewriting the game engine... have I forgot anything? Oh yeh, maybe fighting off BFC's lawyers to boot!" --------------------------- Yeah, I figured as much, but thought I would test the water. Thanks for the reply. Curtis
  11. Hi all! Before I write what may seem like a complaint, let me say this. I LOVE THIS GAME. I have been a tabletop wargamer for many years now and painted/purchased more armies than can be easily displayed in one room. I have not picked up a paint brush or bottle of glue or pushed a piece of metal/plastic across a gaming board since November. That was when I made my fateful puchase of CMBB. My gaming group has been completely converted by this game. I know I am preaching to the choir, but wanted to make sure you knew how I felt. If nothing in CMBB changed ever, I would still be the happiest guy around. Having said that, I was wondering if there was any MOD or gaphics card out there that would make the "wheels" on tanks/other vehicles move (spin, ect). Just wanted to make sure that I wasnt missing out on anything. Thanks! Curtis
  12. Hi all! I am trying to determine what (if any) winter camo was common among russian infantry in November 1942. I am preparing for the CMMC2 campaign which takes place during Operation Mars in Nov. 1942. I have been to the CMMODS and have downloaded the T-34 and T-70 winter mods. I have looked at several different infantry MODS, but they all say early war or late war and are all pretty different. So my question is this: Did enough Russian infantry wear the white jumpsuit that we always see in news reels to justify me having all my infantry in games wear it as well? Or was there a different winter camo common in that time period. If it was a uncommon pratice, then I am happy leaving them with their brown uniforms... Any help would be great. Thanks, Curtis
