  1. Apologies if this has been covered previously, but was wondering if BF has any plans to do a CM game for early war Poland, France, Norway, etc.? Would be nice to have the series rounded out. Also, anyone know what CM theatre is going to be covered first by the new engine?
  2. Having been going through dozens of threads and hundreds of posts on the issue of the nVidia/CM** conflict, and how well documented it is, I wanted to pose an ethical question. Since Battlefront is aware of these conflicts, would it not be ethical to alert people of this potential conflict on the order or info page? There is a very large number of nVidia card users, and I know for myself, had I known I would have to "roll back" my drivers just to be able to play (effectively shutting out other games/applications I use), I would not have purchased the game. It just seems unethical to me, and a bit deceptive, as they know this conflict exists, yet do nothing to warn potential buyers of the problem. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy CMBB immensely, WHEN it runs properly, but getting it to do so has been nothing but a headache at times. It doesn't matter who's fault it is, but Battlefront does know about it, and seems to be content to have the money flow in, and then force their customers to come to these boards with the problem, only to find out it is nothing new, and has been going on for quite a while. Val.
  3. Schrul, You have to accept my apologies, my day went from bad to worse just before I sent the reply, and it was one of those moments I should not have been online, hence the lashing out. Val.
  4. Schrul, On one hand I know you are the class "guru" around here, however I still can't help but feel that tinge of "Viva Grandoise"..... All instructions were followed to the letter, as Bob saw fit to list them. The issue I am having is an issue that has been brought up on these boards before, and quite recently. Doing a forum search under "stuttering" will net results on similar issues. Your prose, and playing 1000 questions does more hindering than help, as it insuniates that anyone who asks a question on these boards, must either: a) Be a complete computer illiterate moron Not as smart as you or c) Any combination of the above Absurd notions of what USB devices I have plugged in, or if my monitor is "Plug and Play" have NOTHING to do with the issues I am having at hand. I play a LARGE spectrum of games on a regular basis, from Ghost Recon, IL-2 FB and NHL 2003 on the 3d intensive side, to Cossacks and a wide assortment of strategy games on the other. NOT ONE of those games "stutters" like CMBB and the CMBO demo do. Not on one of those innumerable other games have I had any issues even closely related to the one I am having with the CM** games. This issue is with CM**, not my hardware or settings. If it is a conflict with CM** and my settings, it is still an issue with CM**, as again, there have been no other problems that would lead me to believe in anyway that this is widespread. According to research from similar problems reported on these boards, this is plainly an issue where CM** does not like Nvidia drivers. For whatever reason, the game feels the need to "hiccup" every few minutes. Please, I implore you, if there is to be any follow up, let it be from someone who has either: a) Experienced the same problem to no avail or Experienced the same problem and has come up with a fix The last thing I want, or have time for, is someone asking me "What is the manufacturer of your RAM", "What is your PC's temp", yadda yadda yadda.... If I cannot find a fix, well I will just have to stay clear of picking up CMBO, and any follow up games until this WELL KNOWN Nvidia/CM** issue is fixed. Having a bad day, Val.
  5. Bob, Well, I went through your process as outlined above, and now the Nvidia/XP issues I was having (game stuttering/locking up every 3-4 minutes) has gotten worse. Deleting the pref file only ensures that CMBB will not launch period. Rolling back the driver to 3.0.8.2. is giving me more problems than I had with 4.1.*.* in regards to the game stuttering and locking up. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that this is not a fix that will work for everyone, and may, as in my case, make the problem worse. Val.
  6. Well, I just went through the process that iconbob laid out a few weeks back to fix the bug problem, and now instead of the game locking up every 3-4 minutes, it is happening every 1-2 minutes. I am at my wits end, and am utterly frustrated. anyone wish to buy a copy of CMBB? Val.
  7. Just have to ask, has anyone put out the Maus for CMBB? Would be nice to field one:)
  8. Greetings, Actually it appears to be a bit moot, as I have been doing some research on the boards, and this seems to be the exact NVIDIA/XP bug others have been experiencing. I have just completed iconbob's fix suggestion and installed the 3.0.8.2 drivers. I am about to give it a test run and I will see if this fixes the problem. Thanks, Val.
  9. Greetings, First, please accept my apologies in advance if I seem a bit frustrated, I have been dealing with this issue since I purchased CMBB over a month ago to no avail. Whenever I play CMBB, every 2-4 minutes the game starts to "stutter", the screen shakes, sound goes nuts, etc. This lasts for about 10 seconds at a time, and makes the game unplayable. I also have had the same problem on the CMBO Demo that I downloaded recently. My system specs are: P4 @ 2Gig, 256 Megs of RAM, GeForce 2 MX400, Running XP. I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of, from updating my video drivers, rolling them back to 3 or 4 older versions (going back to 2.*), re-installing the game, etc. I run a very clean system, and haven't had any similar problems on other games that I run. CMBB is the best game I have come across hands down, and I was going to purchase CMBO, but until I can correct this issue, I will be holding off so I don't run into the same problems. Any help anyone can provide is appreciated. Thanks, Val.
