  1. Since some of my past comments have been critical of SC's similarity to COS I figured I wanted to reiterate some positives (not to sound too repeatitive since it's been said before) that SC takes the best elements of COS and makes them more user freindly (and modern). COS remains one of my altime favorite wargames and that's high praise for SC indeed.
  2. I've obviously got off here on the wrong foot and I apologize if I have offended anyone. I have passion for wargamming as many of you do here and perhaps I was too abrasive in some of my past posts. However some of you have been exceedingly insulting towards me considering i've not made any post since yesterday. Hey that's your choice, free speach an all. At the end of the day we are a niche and really have more tastes in common than differences I think.
  3. It's great to see new folks getting into wargameing as it's an uphill struggle to widen the circle at times. I think games like Combat mission are especially wonderful in that they break free of the ol hexgrids. Although a fun game like SC still can have Hexes and be enjoyable.
  4. Hey Jersey, I'm not a trouble maker. If a person can't say their 2 cents in a forum then what's the point. You can get mad all you want but hey there is something called free speach which is still alive as far as I'm concerned. You rant and rave for paragraph upon paragraph. I say one sentence and you jump on me. And for the record I could list countless similarities of SC to COS beyond the map. My point is'nt to critize its similarity to COS since it's a great starting point. And what's with the trend of new wargames to have exact duplicate soundtracks from other games? Other genre's would never get away with that.
  5. I could'nt have said it better Bull. Bush is a complete warmonger and is set on pushing his "personal" vendetta against Saddam regardless of logic or public opinion. He's going to push the west into an all out war with the entire Arab world.
  6. jjhays wrote I would buy it for the simple fact I have been waiting for a COS2 since 1991... now lets see if any body in here remembers that little jewel from the early 90's This game is COS2, just too bad they did'nt give any credit to COS1
  7. .....Having been playing Strat Com recently I must concede it is a good game and a lot of fun. However there are some points that need to be made. This is not just like, it IS Clash of Steel (forgive the similar observations but this has to come out) This is'nt a simalar game but is way too similar to COS to be considered a separate product. Martin Scholz the designer of COS should at least be given credit but instead the designer has chosen plagerism. And the music and sound?? it's stolen from Operational Art of War. The ENTIRE soundtrack in fact!!?? fortunately I downloaded the full game from Kazaa, and feel no guilt since the designer stole this himself and just modifyed it.
