  1. It seems just to be a harmless transient thing,it happens with some units but not others from what I can see. But an inf in a ruined building does usually lose its base totally and is almost invisible to see unless you look hard. Thankfully a couple of essential "Transparent Ruins" mods soon take care of that. :D

  2. I got an ex-Waffen-SS penpal named Werner living in Inverness Scotland,he served as a Panther radio-operator at Tarnopol on the East Front, then later was a Tiger commander with Hitlerjugend Div in Normandy before the British knocked out his Tiger killing the rest of his crew."But after capture they treated me very well. They knew I was just a soldier doing my job"

He was sent to a POW camp in Scotland, married a local girl after the war and settled down with her there. I'll ask him if he wants to contribute a piece for this forum.

  3. CMBB is fabulous as it is,but(stop me if this has already been done somewhere in the forum)maybe a future version could incorporate a timer for solitaire and head-to-head play to spice things up? Not with just a fixed pre-set setting, but with a "variable" option too,so that the pre-set "4 minutes"(or whatever) to complete your order phase may randomly become anything between say 3 mins to 5 mins, just to add a dash of uncertainty? (The variability limits will be selectable beforehand) Other future features could also be drifting smoke (as in Steel Panthers), holes in AFV wrecks to show the fatal rounds entry point, a whole new lesser-abstracted aircraft routine , ditches in the terrain, raised rail embankments , haystacks etc included in random-generated QB maps... (Any other features you guys dream of seeing?)

    Nice doggie.... :D

Neat posting Terrapin, but if I can just digress-The photo also nicely shows why some German war accounts jokingly refer to T-34's looking like 'Mickey Mouse' when their top hatches were open! (The ears, get it?) :D
  5. Once saw a photo of a G.I. sitting ON a little captured Goliath with its control box in his hand having fun driving himself around and trying out different buttons..!

(Also read a piece once about how U.S.troops used to play around with tiny captured Japanese "Knee mortars" and mistakenly thought the name meant you knelt down and rested it on your thigh to fire it.But after a string of compound fractured femurs the word quickly got round..)

  6. Once saw a photo of a dead Russian alsatian dog in a war book(6th Pz Div history I think) with a satchel charge of explosives strapped to its back and a short stick trigger-rod sticking up vertically from the device. Apparently Ivan trained them to run under German tanks and boom, goodbye panzer and Rover!

The dog in the pic had been shot as it approached Jerry lines, and then photographed by the Nazis for propaganda against the "inhumane" Russkis.

Edited to include this appropriately sad face- :(

Muzz:-Work is the place where lots of lucky people have to get up at the crack of dark frosty dawns to get to,and spend all day doing exciting vibrant jobs, then make their way home pleasantly tired out and play an hour or two of CMBB before falling exhausted into bed so they can repeat the whole thing next day!

But we poor unemployed have nothing to do for the 16 hours from getting up at 11a.m. to hitting the sack at 3a.m other than play CMBB non-stop!
