  1. There are also 20mm and 47mm M-H's - both of which are in the scenario.
  2. So, you want to play in the sandbox with the big kids? Check out the Dune(s) scenario by the author of RatPatrol at The Scenario Depot or jbertles Tiny Little CM page (minimalist to the extreme, but I'll eventually post lots of maps) Screenshots of Dune(s) Marmon-Herrington in action Distant oasis Shomar Arif [ January 01, 2004, 12:27 PM: Message edited by: jbertles ]
  3. Dune(s) will be posted at the Scenario Depot tonight, although it may take a bit for the actual file to be available for download. North Africa '41, Giant Dunes, Center Road, Tiny Village, ME, Large Map, mostly armored forces.
  4. There, I think I've got the screenies up without the additional link. Let me know if you have any problems.

  6. Coming soon...from the author of RatPatrol... Marmon-Herrington in action Distant oasis Shomar Arif To be posted at the Depot! [ December 30, 2003, 11:21 PM: Message edited by: jbertles ]
  7. Eh, don't worry about it. Just glad to get reviewed, something that doesn't happen all too often at the depot. Thanks again!
  8. Hey Badger: Whoop-whoop!! Spoiler Alert!! * * * * * * * * * * * ElTee Badger - yeah, the Stuarts are definitely overkill. I would've much preferred putting in some M-8 Greyhounds, but they're not not available until later. But I figgered that the final Jerry reinforcements might be enough. Perhaps that deserves an edit. Please do review it! I have one review already and I think I can browbeat one of my PBEM opponents into giving another. Once you get over 3 reviews then you can get placed on all kinds of other lists on the Depot. BTW, I have a new scenario for AK in the works, but it needs to be tweaked. Soon. I have several CMBB scenarios posted, most of them much larger and more involved than Rat Patrol, which was a quickie. Go to the CMBB Battles Index, click on "T" and go to my scenario "Tankheavy...". From there you can access "other scenarios by this author". My personal favs are "Tankheavy..." (very challenging), "Stronghold Reduction" and "Recon Essence" Happy Merry!
  9. Tenacious Striped One: Unfortunately 15 rounds is all the Jeeps can carry, and they can't be edited for more. Pity. And although I haven't looked really carefully, I don't think that they are any SAS-type super-jeeps with scads of mgs and atrs. As for the objective flags, I imagine I could engineer it like you mentioned by placing multiple flags in the objective areas. But it would have required a lot of fine tuning in points, and the chaos factor of battle would probably skew things anyway.
  10. The Review mechanism at the Depot will walk you through it. Click "review tips" for help. As for the flag, I have no idea. Maybe you can't defend or claim the flag if you are out of ammo? When I playtested the scenario the jeeps were not a factor in taking flags...
  11. Hey Lt. Badger, thanks for the kind words. Do try it from the German side - I was surprised to find that it was just as much fun as from the side of the Rats. And don't forget, whether you like the scenario or not, take a minute to review it at the Depot. Designers really appreciate that - helps us do better in the next one.
  12. Losers should engage in some self-flagellation or self-mortification. My humble suggestion would be to watch every movie starring Audie Murphy back-to-back (I believe that this is what the US is doing to make Al Queda operatives talk).
  13. Take the role of Sgt. Sam Troy or Hauptmann Dietrich as you relive the thrills of the late 60's American TV show! Careen around the desert on your dusty jeeps and shoot up trucks as halftracks and armored cars spin around you spewing dust like tasmanian devils on benzedrine! All you need to complete the mission is a chewed-up old cigar or a pair of aviator-style goggles. At the Scenario Depot: http://ns9.super-hosts.com/~dragonlair.net/combatmission/ Many thanks to Admiral Keth for hosting.
  14. It's one of those Easter Island thingies
  15. eichenbaum - looks great! I assume that the really cluttered stuff is 'rough' and the somewhat less cluttered stuff is 'rocky'. But what are the little bits of white scattered over what likes normal terrain? Bits o' cartilage? Old beer cans?
  16. Now that we are playing around in the sandbox, it would be great to have a terrain mod that would make rocky ground somewhat more prominent from level 4 viewing at least. Right now I can't tell if those little dots are rocks or a left-over sneeze. And when your ACs go into the rocks, boy, what a speed difference! Never done a mod myself (although check out my RatPatrol CMAK scenario at the Depot), but I'm sure somebody would be willing to take up the issue. Note: this got posted by accident in the CMBB forum as well...

This should have been posted to the CMAK forum, not CMBB! Oh well... um, it's true for Russia too... yup. [ December 05, 2003, 09:58 AM: Message edited by: jbertles ]
  18. Update. I tried the using my Apple pro mouse on my ibook and again no black box. My ibook is using an ATY RageM6 vid card, whatever than means. My tower is using NVDA GeForce4MX. Hope this helps.
  19. New wrinkle. I transferred the CMAK files to my ibook and used the touchpad - no black box.
  20. This is my problem; I've seen now several posts from others about this and thought it deserves a thread. On certain Macs (?) the pointer turns into a black box with a white line down the left side. This happens as soon as the loading graphics screen opens. While it does not affect the mouse functions, it does make the pointer somewhat unwieldy, especially in situations where there are a lot of units close together; or where you need a certain amount of accuracy to pick out a waypoint from the other paths. I've also seen something where the pointer appears, but the black box follows it around the screen like a slightly slower dog following its fleeter master. It's somewhat distressing since I already pre-ordered and would be <ahem> unhappy to find this on the final version. Just want to make sure someone notices.
  21. Quote: Quit the app, find the app, single click on it and do an "APPLE i" and change the memory allocation from the default 77400k to as much as you can spare - Try not to have anything else running if you can . My mac has 512mb (System uses 113mb) installed and so I upped CMAK to 152800k - Virtual memory OFF __________ Wicky: No good, I tried your remedies. Glitches still remain. Any other mac users getting this strangeness? Next I'll try downloading the demo again.
  22. Couple Mac graphics oddities that I've noticed (and I haven't even played the game yet). I'm running a G4 Dual (1000Meg) w/ GE Force4 MX vid card First, when I go the main screen and run my pointer over the startgame, multiplayer and exit buttons the text on the little space in the bottom gets all bollixed up - ie, the text doesn't go away when I run the pointer onto a new button, just layers it over. Second, as soon as I pass the menu screens and get into the "loading 3d graphics" screen, the mouse pointer changes to a small black box with a white line on the left side. This stays into the game, although all mouse functions seem to be available. BTW, I'm using an Apple pro mouse. Screen shots available if you need 'em.
  23. Whining is important! After a particularly unfair turn you HAVE to shake your fist in whimpering rage at the vagaries of the byte gods - otherwise small dogs and children in your immediate vicinity may suffer. But: Not at your opponent. And only for one email. And then just suck it up, shut up and play on.
