  1. Just checked it out myself with a test map. Yup - seems strange but there is a "none" chance to kill. Having said that the truck was killed after a couple of minutes of firing. Still, a 20mm cannon on the front of a truck will kill it every time it hits. I doubt it is a big deal, still, someone might end up using these trucks in a gamey fashion. Cheers,
  2. Scratch that - all 3 tanks abandoned the instant that they were imobilized. Keith, I agree with you in part. But I must say if I am in the KV2 heavy tank in 1941 and I know that the Germans do not have one single tank that could kill it with as much AP firing at the front (from over 500m). Abandoning would not be my first instinct. Especially to get out of a tank that is still very capable of returning fire into an area where those same AP rounds can make mince meat out of me. That is not to say that I don't think that green or conscript troops should never abandon just because they get immobolized - just that I don't think it should happen automatically every time. love this game... Cheers,
  3. wow. cool - still, in the case of the heavy russian tanks early in the war I would hazard a guess that I would rather stay inside that tank and keep firing than risk it outside. Thanks though,
  4. OK. First things first - I think it is cool that a green crew will sometimes bail from a tank that gets it's track shot off. Let me explain. I am in the middle of an operation (won't say which). I get re-enforced by 3 KV2 heavy tanks (very heavy). In fact, on paper there is nothing my opponent can do about them (no chance to kill even from the rear). So, I roll these monsters up onto a hill after having killed a couple of light tanks to engage a group of PzIII's. Exchange of fire and wham... my track gets shot off on one tanks - instantly the crew of 6 begin bailing out. Now - cool, I think in a sad way, the crew got scared and are otherwise leaving there no immobile bunker. Next turn. Wham. same thing. A crew bails the instant their track gets shot off. My question is am I just the recipient of some rather bad luck? That is to say that it is not automatic that when a tank get turned immobile and the crew is green that they will always bail? Grumble... grumble... I love this game!
  5. Have heard from a reliable source that it is probably not possible to create damaged buildings. Either they are destroyed or they are not. too bad...
  6. Thanks WWB_99, Your virtual money will be here if you figure out how to do it when you get home... Cheers,
  7. Dear Jon (sorry, just couldn't help myself), Sorry to be snippidey in my last post - it is just the virtual use of the "f" word gets to me. Of course I have read the manual. In fact I believe the page you are refering to is #163. I don't think BTS would be too please with me writing out this whole section of the manual but here is the part that I think you are probably refering to: Note: Ther is a hidden feature which allows you to place destroyed bridges and other buildlings on the map, including factories and churches (which do not have their own terrain palette). Here's how it works: place a rubble tile on the desired spot (don't use "flat rubble"). Preview the map (important!). THe "Destroyed" tag is now fixed for that particular tile. Now go back to the map editor and place a bridge or building on top of the tile. Go into preview again -- the bridge or buidling will now be shown as "destroyed". Still - this is not what I want. I want to make up some damaged buildings to place along side both destroyed and fully intact buildings for a city fight. I am thinking that this is not possible unles someone can prove me wrong. In fact, a virtual $100 bucks to the person who can help me. Cheers,
  8. That's great, Jon! You winner. Tell you what, you RTFM and give me a page number that states how to make "damaged buildings - * or **" and I will give you a kiddy toy to go with your attitude. Cheers,
  9. Hi Dook, Nope -- good try though! You are unable to load saved Operation maps into the Scenario editor. I am beginning to think that it is not possible - maybe it is something for a patch? Cheers,
  10. Thanks MikeyD, But nope - that only creates a destroyed buidling. That feature is there in order to destroy things like bridges, churches, or factories which do not have there own destroyed templates. As far as I can tell it is not possible to custom create damaged buildings. The only way I can think of doing it is to let the computer to autogenerate a map and then deleting the ones areas around the damaged buildings. Still, that leaves you with buildings where the computer wanted them with no way of moving them. There has gotta be a way...
  11. Damaged buildings! How does on make them in the scenario (operatrion / battle) editor? Foxholes, I can do, damaged troops I can do, destoyed buildings, churches and bridges I can do, light or heavily damaged buildins.... I can not do. Help?
  12. True - that would work. The only thing is that you are stuck with the damaged buildings in the location they are placed by the computer. There must be a way as it is my understanding that all CMBB operations and battles that come on the CD were made using the same editing software. There has to be a way - there just hasta!!!
  13. Maybe this is the wrong forum for this but does anyone know how to create partially damaged buildings the the scenario editor? Destoyed ones are easy - but there does not seem to be a way to make ones with one "*" or two "**". Cheers,
  14. Cool! Now how about damaging buildings... Thanks, camp
