  1. Hello Everybody! The card is a Creative Labs Extigy running 24 bit sound. It is USB. I have updated all its drivers. I am also running a USB mouse as I need the IRQs they free up for other devices such as my network card and a Promise card with more IDE channels. I was hoping someone had come across this before as I really didn't want to have to mess with uninstalling and reinstalling all the drivers. trfink
  2. Hi I wonder if anyone has heard of a problem with the new SB USB sound card and CM running in XP? The game will run for a few turns and then crash to the desk top. At first I thought it might be the video card but now am wondering if it might be the sound card. I run the game on my Win98 system with no problems. My WinXp system is Athon 2100+ with 512 memory, Geforce4 4600 video card, SB USB sound card. I have all the new drivers and updates. My Win98 system is Athon 1600+ with 512 memory, geforce 2Ti, Sound Blaster live gamer again with all updated drivers. The Xp system will crash on every game while I have no problems what so ever with Win98, I run them both in 1024 X 768 with 32 bit high color. trfink
  3. Hi I did not mean to imply that I wasn't greatful for the database because I am. I don't know much about the internet execpt that its there when I turn on my computer and seems to work. I just thought that there might be away to speed things up without it costing too much money. I am disabled and home bound and at the present these games are my only enjoyment and I want to enhance them in every way possible. I look forward to every new mod that is released and wish to get them as soon as possible trfink
  4. Hi Thanks for the info, MFOS. I realize it does cost money and it seems to work faster at certain times of the day. I download a JagdPanther at 1.50 meg in the late afteroon at less than a KB per minute and I tried again at 10:00PM and was getting 3 kb per minute which would be about 8 1/2 minutes of downloading. I just was remarking that I wish it gould be faster. trfink
  5. Hello I just started dling from this site. I realize that they are providing a good service for the gamers, but the darn thing is so slow. It takes me a good 45 minutes and sometimes up to 2 hour to down a mod at only 1.5 meg. Is there any way to speed things up. I have DSL and my dl speed is normally 2 megs a minute. Thanks for the wonderful games and mods. They are about the only games I am playing now. trfink
  6. Greetings I find the CMBO much easier to setup with the manager because I don't have to mess with the BMP and WAV files, just but the mod zips in the manager and run it and it installs them for me. It doesn't mess up the regular BMP files as they are also zipped and installed as an option. I get to spend more time playing the game with more options. I know the program for CMBO is a stand alone option but I though that maybe they could put it in CMBB as part of the game. Terry
  7. Hello I don't know if this would be possible or even legal but could a program such as CM Mod manager be built in to the game with a patch from the the company or would it have to be a stand alone program made by someone else? Terry trfink@iowatelecom.net
  8. I have the chipset drivers installed for both OS and everything else is installed for each OS, sound, video, and all other drivers on each hard drive. I did drop the XP video down to 1024x768 16 bit HR and it managed to get through a small scenario with no problems. Why would it run in 32 bit on win98 but needs 16 bit in WinXP Thanks for the help trfink
  9. Hello I have each OS installed on it's own hard drive with their own video & sound drivers. All programs are installed for each OS separately with no conflicts. I am running the ASUS Ti4600 at 1024X768 with 32 bit high color with the Nvidia 29.42 drivers in Win98 and the same in WinXP with the Nvidai 30.82 XP drivers If I drop down to 256 in XP would that make a different? 10. Hi I am a newbie with this game and I have a couple of questions. How do you load any premade maps. I downloaded some from the internet but I can't find any info in the manuals (I have both games) on how to load them, but they say that it can be done. I also am having a problem with running the games in my dual boot PC (Win98 - WinXP Pro). They run just find under Win98 but when when I install them under WinXP they run for a couple of turns and then reboot the computer. My system is: Athlon 2100+ 512 meg memory Asus Geforce 4 128 meg Sound Blaster live 5.1 gamer DirectX 8.1B All the drivers have been updated to the lastest Microsoft approved drivers and it doesn't seem to help. If this as been answered before I am sorry, but I really like to ge it fixed as the games seem to look better with XP for somw reason. trfink trfink@iowatelecom.net
