  1. hi

    i cant agree.

    1. maybe, that the m4 was such a lousy tank, but the german tanks didnt. their transmission allowed to move one track forward and the other backward, so it could rotate in seconds. also thatswhy the heavy german were much more mobile then the m4. so i change my wish: fast rotating only for german tanks.

    2. if the ai could find the right way by itself, like every tankcommander in reality, i had never the problem of ordering the right way.

so you are not right.

  2. in my opinion mainly 2 things went wrong with cmbb compared with cmbo.

    1. tanks need 1-2 min for rotating on one place. it might be on swamp, but on streets? i talked to german veterans, who talked, it took only seconds (10-20).

    2. because of pathfindung-ai i have to give more orders to a tank, then in reality. when i want a tank moving around a corner without showing enemy his side, i need some more waypoints. but these orders i will punished with a delay upto 2 min? it isnt realistic. in 20 seconds you order a whole platoon how to move. although today a tank-platoon takes 1000m wide on battlefield and in ww2 only some hundrets m.

PLEASE BATTLEFRONT, dont repeat mistakes made in cmbb, but werent in cmbo.

    THANKS !

  3. hi

the player, who dominates the tankbattle, dominates the whole match in nearly all cases.

so you need some toys for beating german armor.

frontally you can only use jumbo76 and churchills 7/8 for duells. they are superior to all but the 88L71 (tiger b, jagdpanther). churchils often succeed in gunhits. a pair of hellcats speeding around is very cruelty to german armor, but they are simply killed by FlaK, so you have to spot for them. FlaKs and other guns you can easily kill with 3"-onboard-mortarts. much blast and ammo for only 36 points. as infantry the allies have only one sinceful company: british airborne. they are relativly cheap and you dont waste points in senseless supportteams in every platoon. you need to support your ínfantry with FO-105VT, FO-4" and m8hmc. all allied infantry will die in duelling german sturmkompanie or mountaintroops without support. dont use us halftracks, but british. the m5a1 has 1mm more armor and the brencarrier can transport piat and 3"-mortars. but the most important weapon, you should never forget, is the wasp: with this little toy you can make the decision in every infantrybattle.

  4. on the top of tigers engine you have gratings for changing air, where the rocket could have hit. these gratings are very big on a tiger.

almost most space of the top-plate over the engine.

i think, it is not important, where allied aircrafts should oparate, they ruled ALL of the sky.

in the book "panzerkampf im bild" the Rottenfuehrer Herbert Debusmann described, how he was pow in 1947 and saw the tank 007 with splitted turret from the hull.

    did mustangs have rockets?

the ammo-hatch had not been open by the explsion after the rocket-hit, because most of them were closed by welding.

  5. today in a pbem against hulldown:

a regular kingtiger was bored to death in a QB and commander decided to advance against us tank-toys. i drove with speed around the forest and suddenly he saw an sherman105. saw it, killed it, but the crew took revenge on kingtiger with killing the commander. but the rest of german crew saw no reason for no advance. they hunted to 2 other shermans, they fled into the range of an other kingtiger and one was lighted. at 10 o`clock of the kingtiger without the commander a stuart was escaping from sight of the kingtiger nad shot at it. his third shot was from a distance of 161m and caused a weakpoint-kill with whole crew was dead

there is only one possibility of explaining this:

this small 37mm bullet bounced off the Ritterkreuz of the dead commander in hatch, changed direction into the tank and lighted rests of fuel and oil in the hull.

    are there better ideas?

  6. i read the division-histories of all ss-dividions. wittman died by an airstrike from a rocket. they were on the fiels, when wrecks were still there. the turret of the tiger was not on the hull, but some meter away. there wasn`t any hole in the armor except ONLY one on cover of engine. no gunner from any sherman can hit the top of the tank, esp the top over the engine. thatswhy and because of the size of the hole wittman`s tank was blown away from a rocket from aircrafts, which claim the succes too.

you should read "panzerkampf im bild" from will fey, tank commander in "Das Reich" and sSS-PzAbt. 501/101

  7. there is enormous nonsense

    definitions:

LINE: simple more men left and right of you than behind and before of you.

    (ENEMY)

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Column: the other case. simply more men behind and before you than left and right of you.

    (ENEMY)

    xxx

    xxx

    xxx

    xxx

    xxx

    xxx

the column is the normal military formation for marching around. prussia in seven years war used column only for march and in front of enemy they turned to a line to attack the enemy. napoleon in other case, used a column for attacking. they were upto 50 men side by side and up to 12000 men in ONLY ONE column! sense was, that enemy on every position hasnt enough ammo.

    looked like that:

    -------d-e-f-e-n-d-e-r-s--i-n--l-i-n-e-----------

    ATTACKERS

    ATTACKERS

    ATTACKERS

    ATTACKERS

    ATTACKERS

    ATTACKERS

    ATTACKERS

    ATTACKERS

PS: the first 50 rows were volunters

  8. the mg get his enormous rate of fire through its strengthen recoil. the weapon begins to "dance" around on its bipod. thatswhy big and strong soldiers are better in using this mg.

(i saw us-soldiers with broken collarbone/(schlüsselbein) after shooting with our mg3, after they proudly presented their wars in which they fought with their nice toy-weapon *LOL*)

    *g*

  9. i have some experience with the mg3 version of mg42, too.

one big diffenrence is the distances of fire.

you can use the mg on bipod at ranges up to 1200m and on tripod up to 2000m.

changing barrels is not the really problem, you should cange them after around 150 bullets, but i used it for more then 500 in looooong bursts.

  10. the whole operation in kursk-area was a big mistake in this time, so mean guderian and manstein. both wanted to start the op fast after the mud-period eraly in the year for destroying the russian tank-reserves before there rebuilding and before russians could fortify their lines. but hitler delayed it by waiting for new panthers and ferdiands. but in this time russians fortified the lines. germans attacked too late because of hitler but cut through russian lines, bur in the moment of success german troops in east had to give PDs to italianfront an france.

conclusion: if manstein and guderian had to decide, they had win the battle because of no delay.

(see books "verlorene siege" of manstein and "erinnerungen eines soldaten" of guderian)

  11. 1. the whole world can say "thanks" to hitler because of his actions as german "groesster feldherr aller zeiten". he was the main-factor of allied victory in 45.

    2. you needed the whole world for beating germany, a very small country comparised with russia, france and usa. (germany fought allone, forget germans "axis"-countries)

    3. the german army was unbeaten in quality the whole time of war. BUT you cant win with quality about quantity, when quantity is too big.

    4. german army had no lack of strategic thinking, they were not allowed to do so; only hitler made the strategic.

    5. germany is a country without much ressources, so you have concentrate on important things and cant build all usefull thing for warfare you want (see usa....)

    6. it seems, german army had only one mistake in ww2, they were too less men.
