  1. Wonder why some of the better known British generals don't make it to the game? a) General Gort, commander BEF and later ad hoc garrison commands. Gained an underserved reputation due mostly to the failure of the French generals to wake up when they were needed. General O'Conner, who wiped the floor with the Italians and provided the only good news around for Britain in 1940. Churchill pinched most of his army for the Greek campaign and this resulted in Rommels early victories in the desert incl the capture of O'Conner. O'Conner escaped/was released around when Italy surrendered and then served as a divisional commander in France. Any thoughts?
  2. For this kind of game things are about right on terrain, although I'd be tempted to push for the addition of "ancient farmland" with its little hill top towns and small fields surrounded by sunken lanes abd tall hedgerows. This is what stalled the allied invasion of Normandy once it got out from the beechhead.
  3. I can't leave the demo alone, it just keeps dragging me back and I haven't beaten it yet (hey! I nearly took Moscow once)
  4. Great game, I've been playing the demo non stop for a couple of weeks and had great fun. I did think however that the naval side of things could be tweaked by the physical setting up of convoy routes in order to get MMP from an overseas resource/port to the home country. Any MMP would only be able to travel along the convoy route in one turn as far as a merchant ship could travel in one turn. This would leave your 10MMP a turn convoy route open to attack by submarines who are within range of the convoy route. Submarines then wouldn't need to make a specific attack, but just be within range to have a chance at knocking out 1MMP for each submarine (assuming 10-15 in a full strength sub unit). A convoy route could therefore lose an entire MMP load for a turn with a successful sub attack. The convoy owner could then have hunter-killer escort units to patrol the convoy routes to hunt down the submarines and provide protection to convoys. Capital ships could then be kept for what they were intended for.
