  1. You are FORCED to accept the results of your tactics while you watch the replay phase. Too bad if you told a whole squad to advance into a kill sack.

I couldn't agree more c3k. CM is about commanding troops. In reality it takes troops some time to react to new commands. They have to first receive the order, acknowledge the order then assess the new situation to determine the best way to carry out the order.

In my opinion CM should not be a clickfest with robotic troops instantly doing exactly as you request. You give an order and see the effect. That to me is the beauty of CM.

  2. Hi Snowstorm,

The timing is perfect. The agency's managers are on a hiatus this week and well........ let the games begin!

Yes the timing is perfect. The Winter Olympics are finally over (Canada rocked!) and life can begin again, especially here in Vancouver. Back to SC! Looking forward to it.

  3. To combat slower AI performance I like to press end of turn and go get a sandwich. The problem with that is that I miss messages and reports which pop up during the AI turn. This wouldn't be a problem if we could review any previous messages and reports when it is my turn again. Doesn't sound too hard to do?

  4. When I play against the AI, especially in scenarios where it takes the AI several minutes to play a turn, I quite often get up from the computer and do something else. Unfortunately when I return I have missed all of the message boxes that popped up during the AI turn and the Combat Losses box that pops up briefly at the start of my turn.

It would be great if we could review all of the messages displayed at any time so that I could tell if I lost a unit or whatever else interesting happened while I was not looking. If that is too difficult at least keep the combat losses message box open until I press ENTER.

This seems to me that it would not be a tough enhancement?

  5. A very good point. One of the problems we had with SC2 is that experienced players know where to position troops to avoid partisans, but inexperienced players do not. In fact you had to actually look into the scripts to find out just what was needed (gamey). I like some notification in advance to alert the player of some kind of action needed in advance of the partisan activity.
