  1. Damned you fast Straha! Im sure you would find time to play WIF if you cut down on the forum time! Another concideration of mine: I kind of miss the mechanised infantry unit.. what is the reason for cut-down of the variety of units compared to "the other" games? And the stacking issue... i cant drop it. I would definately want to stack at least 2 or 3 units as i cannot see the reason not to be able to do so. If my presious capitol was threathened by a army i would definately want to stack my surrounding 2-3 battle-weakened units on it. And what happens if a unit is built by a city that already has a unit on it? But im sure you have some proffessional answers to my newbie concerns.. But im sure you have planned to hold some improvements to the SC II right? Be sure to include more of northern Europe then as well as N Africa But dont worry - i have already decided to buy this game...
  2. AHH! nice looking piece of code! Would it by any chance be possible to get a picture of that map without the units? Just want to plan ahead...
  3. Sorry for bothering all you pro's... Anyway... The AI is also to be to your advantage as you can automate some things like production. And there will be scenarios like "Europe 1939-1945". But yes... it IS kinda detailed...
  4. Take a look at this as well (for you who hasnt been there..) world in flames. Theres a downloadable beta, but they seem to have worked on this since the battle of hastings... HUGHE! World in flames I tested it beta but there is no AI yet... anyway it covers the whole wide world and there is tons of things to finetune..
  5. hmmm... "vastly" is a big word.. Tried to install HICOM on my new XP-machine last night... It seems vastly difficault..
  6. Go here to get a glimse of the best WWII startegy game... so far.. High command (hosted by Ryan Bailey) /Holyman
  7. Can units be "splitted"? ..no? Is there a possibility to be able to DL the manual? is it going to be sent out with the demo anyway?
  8. Yes, the strategic command II should have a bigger and more detailed map. then there would also be room for more details in the strategic resources area
  9. There were rumors for a long time that hicom was developed to a "hicom for windows" and that the code bounsed between a few companies.. and then there was silence.... I mean.. strategic resources, diplomacy... research...
  10. naah... i bet $1 that they have bought the code to hicom... so why do a less detailed map even if this game seems more developed than hicom in other areas... /Holy
  11. But, but... i looooved hicom! Seems kind of foolish not to be able to defend an air unit with some paratroopers...
  12. Do you seriously mean that not more than one unit cant be placed on one hex? With these 50 mile hexes there should be no problem to have both air and land units on the same spot. In High Command there could be something like 15 units on top of each other. So please tell me yo are just pulling my leg?! /Holyman
  13. Since this promising game seems pretty much based on High Command to me i have a small question regarding the actual map layout. It seems like the number of cities and resources have decreased and i wonder why since Hicom had a wonderful game balance. /Holyman
