  1. I often read here about gun accuracy - guns are to good, not good enough...

Well, most people believe it's relative simple to simulate this - it's simple physics, can be pressed in simple formulas, can be realistic simulated in a game. Well, I have never heard that the military ever trusted into a computer program to test their guns.

Why? The most important thing is muzzle velocity. High muzzel velocity means flat trajectory means higher accuracy (in simple words). But you won't believe how many things influence muzzel velocity. A few:

    type of ammo

    temperatur of ammo

    temperatur of the gun

    wastage of the gun

    quality of ammo

    dirt

    air temperature and moisture

    etc

Then we have other things: position of the gun, underground of the position, LOS, target speed, weather.

    This can be continued.

Well, to make it short : it's nearly impossible to simulate a full realistic gun accuracy - and I'm talking only about the physics.

NOW add the human factor. Experience has very much influence. An experienced crew just knows how to use their gun best in the different circumstances.

From what I can say : BTS has make it as good as possible. Absolutly realsitic - no, of course not. But is this so important? The gun accuracy as it is simulated in CM works equal for both sides. The German for example don't have an advantage, just because we all believe to know that German guns are better. BTS takes a few important and known parameters for the calculation of all guns, so all guns are simulated in the same way. No '88-bonus' or something like that.

IMO, that's fair, as realistic as possible and necessary and - damned - it works and it gives us the best of all games.
