1. Hello all! As you may know I am working on a battle pack called Across the Reich-5 interconected battles, about an airborn unit advancing across Germany, 2 battles in March-3 in Apri, starts at the Rhine (or near it anyway, well youl see) Well for the first two everthing is essentially done, but I need your opinion on my next scenario in April...A German Machine gun emplacement is holding a cross roads and the airborne unit has to advance up the defended hill to destroy the nest..what do you think?

Scipio where you ever in the army???

jeezus ok the crew thing you got an ear full from.. ABANDOND weapons.. here's a tip.. if a crew has to abandon a weapon they are trained to either if posible, spike the gun! and TAKE the fireing pin / block and take it with them! or throw it away somewhere, where the enemy can not find it or has a hell of a time finding it. Knocked out weapons mean they are either damage to the point they can't be used. Not only making them Damaged but abandoned as well, even still the crews if they could will remove the pins out of the guns!!. this makes your Point a) moot and point d) moot since you just don't grasp the idea crews are taught to run back to base if possible. jeez you didn't hear of Wittmann run around looking for a MG to man to kill maybe two or a few guys only to be captured or killed did you? no he high tailed it back to base for a nice brand new tank to do what he does best (destory stuff he's trained with.. here's a tip.. it's called a TANK)

    to answer your point B)

Infantry are taught to take their equipmet with them if they can (and they will bloody well try too as well!) in the event they can't they will abandon their weapon refer to my spiking the weapons bit.

ask some soldiers and tank crew on order of conduct in and on the battle field.. realy you should read those books that were listed.

He is absolutily right, I mean if a man had to abandone his M-1 Garrand, he removed the action from the gun, and I read in a book that during WW II if a Allied tank crew had time, if they had to bug out they would take a HE shell dup it on the floor, and throw a grenaded into the tank...this I think would most likely render it useless, but this usually happend if a tank became mired in the mud, and advancing troops were ahead...

  3. OK SAY YOU MAKE A BATTLE BUT OOPS YOU WANTED IT TO BE AN OPERATION...WELL ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS THIS: GO INTO YOUR CMBO DIRECTIORY AND FIND THE BATTLE YOU WANT TO CHANGE INTO AN OPERATION IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS: NAMEOFSCENARIO.CMB WELL RIGHT CLICK ON IT AND HIT RENAME AND RENAME IT AS SUCH: NAMEOFSCENARIO.CMC IT WILL BE A OPERATION...UNITS AND RESERVES WILL BE SCREWED UP, AND IF THE MAP ISNT AT LEAST 1200 METERS GOING SOME DIRECTION IT WILL SCREW UP THE MAP...

  4. NO NO NO! Dont listen to them!! I know how to...ok go into your CMBO directory, and find the saved games folder (Or where ever your scenario is) go to the scenario and click rename...a BAttle looks like this: NAMEOFSCENARIO.cmb click rename and change it to NAMEOFSCENARIO.cmc and it works!! I have done it when I convert scenarios into Ops it works great but reinforcements etc. will be screwed but that can be fixed!!!

  6. I was lookin over whats-his-names new american airborn pack...the grenades on his pack gave me an Idea for a mod, I am horrible at mods so it will take someone....

Use the regular Feldgrau uniform and add Stick grenades to the belt and have a Panzerfaust slung over his back...you could do one for every uniform you like Fedlgrau, camo etc. But be sure you do the feldgrau (normal one no 1943 green added to it.)

  7. Yes over the monthes have taken your..uh..ahem comments and I am actually agreeing with your comments (MOstly on the Volksgrenadiers!) THe articles were rushed, and thrown together fast I admit it, but RESEARCH WAS DONE NON THE LESS!! Yes proofreading was not on my mind at the time, finals were (WHICH I PASSED--no comments from you stalins organ) But much of the information was taken from the handbook on German military forces, and if you go threw that book you uptight gits out there will be furios at some of the historicle errors, it was compile March 15, 1945 and has many mistakes that contradict many things said in other books by respectible historians etc. My weapons info was from a book by Ian Hogg, who appears on the History channel alot, and yes The Germans did use Soviet sub-machine guns on the WESTERN FRONT so tongue.gif and JAmes R. Arnold also said so.. did pour reaserch in and did rush, YES there were a few TRIVIAL inaccuracys and many rushed errors, and for that I am sorry and desreve ten lashes, But it was reaserched so there, but the Volkssturm was very rushed and to you who said " I once killed a elite british Parachute squad with one unit of Volkssturm" well sir you failed to mention if you made the VS elite aswell! Yes the VS was rushed very much so and i regreted sending it to manx as soon as I pressed enter. Also, the StuG info was entirely from the German Handbook on Military forces, YES it is out dated, and alot of info today contradicts quite a few things in that book, the books section on VGDs is very different from a hand book on German infantry written by some other git, I now wished I used it AND am once again sorry for rushing it and not taking my time, Also to the cowards who e-mailed MANX your comments I will say tongue.gif because you didnt have the guts or inclination to email ME the Author. That was low, but it was researched, but rushed, so I APPOLOGIZE for the erronious nature of them even with research you can make mistakes, and I am sorry I didnt take my time either, so there I said it. Thank You... smile.gif
